Great explanation. Aaron was definitely the bigger idiot.
Ответитьwonderfully done
Ответить"This is where it gets complicated" - I was already lost by this point.
ОтветитьI am so stupid, even after animated illustration, i didn't get it 😂
ОтветитьOkay but one plot hole I just noticed: when they go back and do stock market stuff, wouldnt that mean they have the new trades in their accounts by the original time they left?
ОтветитьI like how Nolan handled this in Tenet. What's happened happened. No multiple versions living at the same time forever.
ОтветитьGreat job ❤
ОтветитьBack here in 2023. Having watched both Primer and your video many times. Thanks for the clear explanation!
ОтветитьI thought Aaron's bleeding ear was supposed to have something to do with getting injured somewhere. And Abe passing out during that bench conversation was because that Abe had not slept in days. Though, I can't figure out how those fit into the story.
ОтветитьIt’s Shane not Steve!
Ответить'Primer' is basically a Neil Breen movie. It doesn't make sense because it's made by an aloof and weird person, not because it's just too smart for the layman.
Ответитьso basically the fail safe boxes is what started all the problems. if they didn't have that, then everything would have been fine. they cancelled each other out, only 1 abe and aaron moving forward in time. the fail safe failed
ОтветитьSo by the end of the movie, aaron0 and abe0 are chilling. Aaron2 flew to wherever to build a bigger machine. Abe5 becomes a guardian angell. Aaron6 is just chilling on his own somewhere. Accurate?
ОтветитьI'm glad I didn't watch the movie
ОтветитьShane.... Shane Carruth.. Jesus.
ОтветитьAaron was a narcissistic psychopath. We never saw how Aaron 0 acted at the party, but to go back to the past without responsibility just to be the hero of the party shows a lot of his persona; also to do what he did to his own version of himself is not to empathize at all, not to mention that in the end he didn't learn anything and probably the future in the universe of that movie was completely ruined for having shared the knowledge of time machines
ОтветитьPeseant movie
ОтветитьI hate to say it, but what this (excellent) video tells me is that Primer could have been a real hit if only the film makers had deigned to allow their script to be edited. The actual storyline is really not that complex (especially when compared with movies such as Memento, Inception or Tenet). Rather, it's the scripting itself that makes the plot almost impenetrable. There is absolutely nothing in the plot itself that should make the movie so difficult to follow - all the concepts are quite easy to understand. It's the script that makes the movie complex. And I think that this is a real shame. If ever there was a movie that could use a remake with a proper editor and screenwriter, this would be it.
ОтветитьOutstanding film. I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Bravo to all involved.
ОтветитьThis review successfully stressed me out as much as the first time I watched the film. Really glad for the breakdown.
ОтветитьThese two characters in the movie are both ridiculously smart in understanding what the heck is going on, and also ridiculously stupid for doing most of what they do.
ОтветитьGlad someone took the time to explain it, loved the movie but def missed some stuff
ОтветитьI just wanna get mindf*cked and not try to figure it out.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьAcabo de terminar de ver la película y me ha volado la cabeza. Vengo a ver tu vídeo para entenderla mejor y ha sido una pasada. Excelente explicación. Saludos.
ОтветитьIt helps to instead of referring to the characters as abe 1 or aaron 2 to think of the number as a counter of the amount of times traveled
ОтветитьA million thanks. It's the best explanation I've ever seen.
Ответитьi didn't find it hard to understand
-- found it thoroughly enjoyable.
This would make a great super villain origin story and hero arch.
ОтветитьHe should have dumb downed the dialogue because that's the reason I clicked.
ОтветитьStock market?! What!? Lottery would had been the first one lol
ОтветитьBiggest problem with Primer is that it would better play the Lottery than to invest in the stock market, at least in the beginning.
ОтветитьAfter my 7th watch of Primer, it only dawned upon me that the looping broke the 4th wall and made me loop the movie itself when you mentioned it in your intro. I'm both ashamed and impressed.
ОтветитьYou done messed up now A A Ron.
ОтветитьHaha I've watched it 14 times
ОтветитьI am thinking how much mind and focus does it need to explain such movie? The first time I watched it, not a good experience at all. Boring, out of context conversations, slow screenplay and unexciting tone of the movie made it a bitter experience. But you did it. Thanks. Well, Coherence (2013) had a similar premise of being more than one identity people.
ОтветитьShane Caruth, not Steve Caruth.
ОтветитьThank you,
Ответитьmy head is hurting
ОтветитьI think even the people who made this movie must have used this video as a reference because that was very well broken down
ОтветитьThe only thing that doesn’t make sense is how Abe was able to get an early check in at 9am.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьThe entire plothole in this movie occurs when Abe turns on the backup at 5am on Monday; at that moment he turns it on, Aaron should've emerged. In fact; he should've put on a camera on this first box to see if anyone emerged when he was gone; also, he shouldn't have told anyone about the location of the failsafe.... of he should've make 2 from the beginning.
ОтветитьI liked it! But even better is “Coherence”… that is a masterpiece
ОтветитьThis still doesn’t make sense to me. It just seems like an infinite loop. If you get in the box at 3pm to go back to 9am, why would you suddenly disappear by getting in the box again when 3pm rolls around? Wouldn’t you just be going back to 9am? The Mr Grainger thing is strange too. How exactly would he have come across the box if they kept it in storage and how would he know how to use it?
ОтветитьBEST time travel film ever!
ОтветитьGreat movie. Surreal for me the first time watching it since that was the same Uhaul I stored my stuff in.
ОтветитьFantasssstic! I loved this so much! Thank you!
