I am not creative enough and my renovated shacks always are poorly built and laid out; this is very helpful.

Im still lost on how to do the roof correctly. Mostly cuz we werent shown exactly how to construct it without it falling down .

Personally i dont like the chimney at all cos it obstructs the light. If the other bed is for a ladyfriend😏why would it be that far? :P

Buddy you have GOT to show more of the process. Had to pause a royal fuck ton just to decipher what you did because you just cut segments / skipped ahead / didn't show you how built something. Build guides should be every step of the way.

My go to starter is a cruciform shape. 6m x 6m center with fire in middle, then 4m x 6m extensions on all 4 sides. 4m high at eaves. One extension is bed (on 1m raised platform with chests below) plus any comfort, one is cooking area with at least 18 storage chests (6 wide x 3 high), one is crafting area with workbench and 18 more chests, and last is entry. The floor is at least 2m above ground so all workbench enhancements go under the floor. Thatch roof with inside and outside corners, extended out from walls to protect anything underneath. One standard stair from entrance. It won't reach the ground, but you can easily jump to it. Surround it with a continuous stake wall set at least 6m from house walls.

One thing I’ve noticed with a lot if players is that they use the camera shake effect a lot. I turn mine off cuz it give me vertigo 😅

SUP, I'm trying the level ground thing,I did what you instructed me to,dig around in a circle,but there's a stone,close to a seaside,it kinda makes a bump in the ground and it won't go down no matter what I try. I also have no pickaxe nor do I have a blueprint for it. How do I get a pickaxe and get rid of that..bump thing?

Late finding this video, but well done. An excellent true starter home. One thing I've learned when building tall chimneys like the one you showcase here - instead of using solid boards, use 'X' 's instead - it allows for more light to filter throughout the space and gives a cool aesthetic!

Anyone else having an issue where you are always exposed with where the bed is placed? Can never get my rested bonus after sleeping because the windows are leaving me exposed to the outside no matter how much I fiddle with the placement against that wall he uses.

I just can't get anything to snap correctly. I've been fixing up the ruined shacks spread everywhere for temporary bases but forget building a shelter from scratch. The snap function is extremely poor in this game, at least on Xbox. It will typically only work for floor pieces and thatch roofs.

It seriously never clicked in my head to use those half wall sections instead of the beams for doing up the base of a building

That aside, feels like it's a bit big for a starter home, but I suppose not everyone's gonna wanna start in a 2 stake wall by 3 stake wall shack

Big survival game guy but always the whole “starter base walk through” stuff is just click bait lies. I actually kept up with this one good job.

Love the build, a little was cut out but pretty straight to the point, if you kept a couple things in it could have hit the 10 minute mark and had more advertising. But nice build 🤌
