Nice car....But My first move would be install a set of 17" BBS wheels with Bridgstone DMV2 snows and then run it Year round this way.....The DMV2's ride much better, Especially in the 65 series.........Would not be a race car, But I am 80 and consequently prefer a smooth, quiet ride...........I absolutely despise tire profiles less than 60 series and find Them not much good for anything................Paul

Lol. Those tyres are so bad as winter tyres that they are sold as summer tyres in Europe.
Throw a set of 255/55R19 General AT3's on it and it would be a night and day experience.

They are nice but at $55,000 for used one in my area, it is priced as a luxury car or Tesla.

I'm not into Hybrids or EVs but the Prime almost addresses all my concerns. I think Toyota should make a TRD version and get rid of the sunroof and install a solar panel to charge the systems when not in use or near a charger for this Rav4 to be just about perfect. I tend to keep my cars for 12 or more years and generally put in over 300k miles on the odometer. This has always been with ICE equipped Toyota's and other than general maintenance Toyota has been very good to me. One massive worry about these new Prime vehicles is that all batteries die at some point and to replace a Prime battery is about $10,000. That's an expense I have never incurred with an ICE vehicle in my entire life.

Why o why do you perform this type of test on all-season tyres. You're not testing the cars awd system only concluding that you have crappy tires... Makes this test completely uninteresting.

Everybody on these things talks about preferring to run on Eevee electricity rather than gas without answering the most single most important question over 90% of the potential buyers is real simple does electricity cost less per mile than gas if I'm spending more to run on gas then of course I prefer electricity it would cost less to run on gas than I prefer gas

The older onees are lager in the cargo area. They were actually very large compared to most SUVs. They were 4ft wide thru the back door and the back door opening was higher vertically than most. I hauled a lot 8 ft wood from Menards with mine. The older ones were slow however. Just barely fast enough. Took one of mine 400,000 mi, had no rust and was runnimng strong when I traded it. Didn't burn oil either. Just change that Transmission oil. They say they're lifetime but that's not true.

I've owned three 4x4 ravs I bought new. They all did very well in the deep snow. Up to 8 " as you're finding out. They did well off road too but I never got on a anything serious. I didn't buy the options for that abuse. '

considering very very few people drive off road, why can't we get a video where you test drive a car garbage salt infested and pot holed hell roads in Chicago for 20 years and then tell us how it did. that would be some actual useful information.

Rav4 Hybrid and Prime suck offroad. The rear motor is not powerful enough. You have 63 hp to rear axle and 240 hp to the front axle........ the gas only Rav4 does amazingly well offroad though

One of these used with low miles recently sold for $60,000+ somewhere in the US. The economy is insane. Can’t wait for these bubbles (car loans, mortgages, student loans, business loans, commercial real estate) to burst. It’ll be hard when they do, but that has to happen for prices to stabilize

I was looking at the xse, or trd off road the prime possible. But the trd off-road is more appealing because I want to do some camping and off-roading nothing crazy. I’m also looking at a Cherokee trailhawk

I really like the Rav4 Prime. The price point is why I'm considering it more and more. I would hate to get rid of my 2018 GMC Sierra, but with no relief at the pumps.... I might order one.

I also considered the Volvo XC60 Recharge... but 65k... I couldn't do it.

We'll see what happens..

It’s unfair to test the Rav4 on snow ❄️ without proper tires. All season tires don’t work well on snow.

I really wished this thing did better off-road/in the snow my sock 2020 rav4 did amazing in the sand and in the snow and I really like the prime for its power and gas mileage but it's sad that those Electric motors pretty much just quit When I feel stuffed starting to slip The prime should have a similar setup to the TRD offroad with the clutch packs and maybe they can integrate that electric motor with the rear end Of a trd off road that would be amazing

One of the coolest Toyotas? The RAV4 is and always has been, rubbish.
Also once the piddly little battery is flat you are 2WD as the rear wheels only have electric motive power - no drive shaft from the engine. Off-roading in one - pointless as you’ll be 2WD very quickly.
Several electric motors? Two!!

Why anyone would want to drive this vehicle off-road without skid-plate protection is beyond rational logic and just plain dumb. Apparently some people have money to 🔥 or nothing better to do with their time. Why not buy an ATV if you want to play around off-road.

This thing is horrible in the snow. I can see all the dorks coming up to mountains on all-season tires & thinking this hideously styled SUV/CUV (whatever segment this goofy vehicle occupies) will take them so much as 5’ off the cleared roads.
