George Lucas is clearly a student of history. Palpatine seems to be a well put together combination of Hitler, Stalin, Julius Caesar, Caesar Augustus, Caligula and Diocletian. George also seems to have mirrored historical events when writing about Palpatines plans, for example, Order 66 is an obvious copy of the Night of the Long Knives.

This is very effective, as it makes the events in an otherwise unrealistic fantasy land seem very plausible. The fans who criticised the prequels obviously knew Fuck all about the world around them to not see that!

Almost every Sith is stronger than Sidious except Kylo Ren, or some random Sith's that nobody knows about, and I guess Vader, because his weakness is Sith lightning. But if Vader didn't get his limbs cut off and if he was at his maximum potential, and if he didn't get burned Vader would probably fucking obliterate Sidious.

Sidious doesn’t seem as powerful as the Ancient Sith Lords, let alone any other Sith Emperors. He’s much more of a tactician and schemer, and the galaxy of his time was not use to handling an actual Sith Lord, it gave him an edge.

-Sidous was not devout to the force rather to technology even Vader hated that
- Sidious wasnt willing to be train his aprentice to be stronger than him and be killed in battle
- Sidous break the rule of two

So Sidious wasn't a true sith

They hate him because he was a bad matser and was not passing down alot of his knowledge to his students....infact they were more like pawns and he only cared about killing jedi and power for himself not the future of the sith......

Palpatine avoided proving his strength and did not follow any scrap of Sith belief and culture and philosophy. He merely picked out the parts he liked and was basically just a normal Dark Sider with a lightsaber. Powerful or not (and he really wasn't, no matter that many writers try to present him as strong in direct contradiction to the movies), he was not a real Sith.
