You see the best part is that for some reason my game couldn't properly display the sunbeam, so it just looked like it was phasing in and out of reality...

Why was the dialogue changed from the earlier version? the old one sounded better

This and the Aurora explosion are some of my favourite moments in gaming. It's just SO COOL.

I felt SO BAD when the gaint turret shot the Sunbeam, killing all the innocent lives just doing their job to save you.

You can’t help but feel bad for the sunbeam, if you didn’t respond to them, they would’ve been fine.

I seen this at night, while it was pitch black, and when the alien structure started making that horrific sound I assumed some Cthulu like creature was going to come out of the water or something

Sunbeam Crew: die a horrible and hopeless death, being ripped from their family, all their dreams, memories, emotions and goals in life squashed in a second by a force out of their control and for reasons they can't grasp.

The Coolest sound ever.

First time I saw this my jaw fell on the floor and I swear to God I could feel every atom of my being fill with dread.
I felt so bad too, the Sunbeam was just trying to redeem themselves for their initial dismissal of your distress call, then the planet is like "I will kill all who try to help you, you're never escaping"

but also goddammit that sound design is epic, and that explosion is so freaking good despite it all

That loud fucking trumpet noise after was timed directly with the huge creepy looking moon looming behind the building in my playthrough. I have never felt so doomed in a video game in a really long time.

fun fact: if you wait all the way till you disable the weapon to listen to the radio, the ship doesnt even show up and the timer remains on your screen indefinetly. You also get a radio message from sunbeam stating that they cant make it to the planet due to debris

What a terrifying thought at this point in the game. That the only people that knew you were here, were vaporized in an instant. Now you're truly alone on this planet.

I'm replaying subnautica after years, but I have a doubt 🤔 is it possible to save the capsule if I deactivate the tower? And above can I recover resources from the destroyed capsule? 🤔And if we could save the capsule, what would be the benefit?

This has the same vibes as when the citadel in half life 2 "transforms" when gordon gets the crowbar. Its unsetteling to see something so huge move so fast...

The Architects are an insanely advanced species.. I wonder if Al-An and his crew were the ones that built this gun.

My goodness. And.. the items missing on the Sunbeam creation blueprint: Hardshields, Hyper-X Capacitors, Class-X Shields, Displacement Device, Inertial Nullifier, Phasing Cloak, Xenotronium.. wait, wrong game. lol Just messin

When you see what happened to the Sunbeam, it gives you more respect for how massive and tough the Aurora was. That ship crash-landed mostly in one piece.

what's far more haunting that the siren is the silence after the explosion. You're once again alone
