Arch Linux : 22 installing grub to our EFI system

Thanks I followed the Grub intall on the arch wiki and then they didn't mentioned or I missed most probably they didn't mentioned that you will need to create this using this command, and when I booted up my system I had GRUB but no kernel was detected. Finally after watching your short video, I was able to do it. Thanks for this useful video.

I'm trying to install grub in UEFI but unfortunately whenever I boot, it only shows "UEFI firmware settings" among the boot entries.

Don't forget if using fdisk to partition to use the sub-command 't' to select partition type for EFI as "1 EFI System". Older versions of fdisk show that as "ef EFI (FAT-12/16/" but same thing. If you skip that the GRUB2 bootloader won't install. This probably applies to Arch Linux as well as the ArchBang I got working last night.

I've spent 5 hours installing arch linux but when i load into grub the only boot option i have is into bios

just grub-install worked for me

This is so helpful, I've been able to install grub on efi in the past but I didn't fully understand what I was doing. This showed exactly what I need to install grub on efi.

Greetings! I was trying to install Arch on i686 architecture with BIOS(not UEFI) on MSI Wind U100. ISO image that I have is for i686. But I can't find information on the Web what command suits those conditions.
Guide that I was using proposed to run this command:
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --bootloader-id=GRUB --efi-directory=/boot/efi --removable
But here of course I got error and I have no any idea how to install grub now. I'd appreciate any help.

hi need your help, hope you could get my comment and reply, when im getting to grub install, i installed the grub efibootmgr but after that nothing is working, i get this error, grub-install: unrecognized option --target-86_64-efi and i tried several version read over the internet same error but with the correspondent tag. im just stuck there

When I did "grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi" it told me that it failed to get the canonical path of "/boot/efi"

When i try to install the grub i get this: grub-install :error : efibootmgr failed to register the boot entry :input/output error
