I did get to see him 37 year's a go. At the state far in Milwaukee wi & he put on a outstanding concert. Anytime I play his .people all ask who is that? That's not the who! That's FRANK ZAPPA!!

I have been a life long fan of Frank, ever since I first heard Overnight Sensation. Some of my favorite tracks have always been the fully instrumentational ones. As far as I'm concerned, he has been way to far underrated as one of the best Guitarists out there. A lot of his compositions are far beyond even his contemporaries. Let's not get into his Lyrics, and his attitude of free speech in Music. Many of todays and even older musicians and song writers have him to thank for their couriers.
Thank you for this...After all, they did not bring out a compilation of his songs that had to be titled "Strictly Commercial" ...LOL

Frank had way more time to hone and compile his different styles, moods, & modes than Jimi. He also had more creative freedom and better business sense, than Jimi. No disrespect.

I saw the original MOTHRS OF INVENTION back in 1975 at the DAR Constitution Hall in Wash DC, and man what a show, he had Jean Luc Ponty on electric violin, and Frank was lightning on guitar. The 1970's were raw and the music and "other stuff" imbibed made the scene. Plus bands played like 15-20 minute jam sessions in concert. I wish It was 1976 all over again. PEACE

he preferred the SG or the LesPauls? But his SG had reworked wiring. Maybe he frankensteined his LesPauls. Dont think i saw him with a Strat. His guitars were Not 'Out of the Box nor case. It may be odd to say but in a way Frank was Glam. Even if he wore the clothes of his wife just kidding he just grabbed what was on the floor and that was his show costume. Oh he did use Strats too i thought he was boycotting Strats for some reason.
