Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Postgame Final Boss Fight - Chaos Elfilis

Took a whole hour to beat this thing. Retried so many times and wasted so many coins lmao. It was so hard for me till I figured out you can just phase through the attacks holding block and flicking the left analog stick. The boss couldn't touch me when i did this lmao. What a cheese. Enjoy!

Fun fact! A notable design difference between Fecto Elfilis and Chaos Elfilis is that Chaos Elfilis's eyes are concave (curved inward) rather than convex (curved outward). This means that, rather than following Kirby, their eyes will appear to follow the player instead. This means that they practically know we exist and that just adds to the creepy factor they give off! Which in turn makes me love it all the more.

Jesus the dying animation is kinda disturbing, you didn’t just kill decor elfilis, you killed the many innocent animals it took with it, struggling to break free from the fusion

Oh by the way if you want to hear a tip (not you need it now lol). If you summon the orbiting spirits once Elfilis clones and tries itself, they'll automatically target the real one.

After the Forgo levels and second credits, can you continue gameplay? Or does it start you back at the beginning?

so here are all the references to other boss fights in chaos elfilis' second phase, as far as i can tell:
- general orb-like form that kirby bosses like to take when Shit Gets Real. most soul bosses are a sphere. because of the smaller orbs chaos elfilis has it resembles a planet with moons around it imo
- the Goop™️ it has also looks similar to other soul bosses. the wings on magolor soul are my first thought
- black hole: first appeared in super star but has been used in 7 mainline games since then, with the bosses marx (WHO APPEARED IN LIKE FOUR SEPARATE GAMES AS A BOSS MIND YOU), marx soul, magolor, magolor ex, magolor soul, sphere doomers ex, star dream, star dream soul os, holo-doomers 2.0, rampaging doomers, void termina, and void soul. (jesus CHRIST.) marx and magolor also used this as playable characters in star allies/fighters 2/magolor epilogue. just a REAL fucking classic attack
- the focused laser attack is original to this fight, and is one of the only attacks in this phase that is fully original
-shooter cutter: again, first used by marx in super star, but has been used by the following bosses since then: marx soul, dark mind, drawcia soul, soul of sectonia, star dream soul os, void soul, and void. also used by marx as a playable character in star allies
- teleporting around a bunch and generally being a bitch to hit. Classic Kirby Boss Move. unsure how many games this one appeared in
- THE master crown attack (shitton of lasers that move slowly across the screen and turn the game into a temporary jump rope session): used by both void termina and mistilteinn in star allies and the magolor epilogue respectively. i think the use of this one lore-wise is SUPER interesting since it's only ever been associated with the master crown
- also, speaking of mistilteinn, the background during deadly sun REALLY looks like the background from mistilteinn's second phase. with the fire and all that. during the rest of the phase the background also resembles the patterns on void
- deadly sun: fireball screen-sweeping attack. used first by drawcia soul, then marx soul, grand doomer, soul of sectonia, and void
- the rock-falling section in this deadly sun functions somewhat similarly to phantom meta knight's, though i'm sure there's another boss that's used it. the broader idea of "the game gives a shape for you to run to before slamming shit on you" is used a lot in other games, but not necessarily in boss fights
- splash rush: attack from canvas curse, used by drawcia soul, marx soul, and soul of sectonia. i must add that this is probably the most violent (and gross) this attack has ever looked
- bound pound: bouncing attack from drawcia soul, then used by grand doomer, soul of sectonia, and all the void forms. the ring with the lightning at the end is a self-reference, to a similar effect from forgo leon's fight
- also the bit someone else mentioned where the explosion at the end looks similar to dark star from 64

I have yet to beat Chaos Elfilis. His boss fight just keeps getting to me. I lost my Morpho Knight Sword while trying to beat his chinchilla form, and then when k thought it was all gonna be over, the Orb Form threw me into battle and I fought so hard but ultimately got beat…

I need to just… Grind for Star Coins and buy a ton of power up items when I feel ready, pack a to-go Maxim Tomato, and then face the Ultimate Cup Z.

I used the last phase of spaced explorer. In Spanish the voice says "Por fin hemos llegado", but it's sounds like a little girl.

I beat this entire game without dying including this boss, I still don’t know how I did it lmaooo

they are so consistent with their boss fights i swear. we didnt get any semblance of previous fights in fecto elfilis, but according to the description of this figure, elfilis absorbed the butterfly. only then did we start seeing the usual flaming ball, flickering, cutter attacks later on

Timing your dodges and doing a counterattack will prove to be the best strategy to succeed here.

The 2nd phase form is literally an example on what wouldve happened if all soul bosses teamed up for the final fight no scratch that, how about ALL the soul bosses team up to make the secret final battle even HARDER.

I finished this arena in 1 attempt. And I'll be honest: it was pretty easy. Finally with Morpho's sword you can heal yourself and completely dodge an attack. He was a good soul boss though

I had a harder time with this boss than Godrick the Grafted in Elden Ring.

I only know one thing: I want to kill Chaos. I need to. It's not a hope or a dream, it's like a hunger, a thirst.

Here is a random theory in the midst of a sea of comments:

Most what-if side modes are set in a dream, but who is dreaming it is up to interpretation. The Butterfly is never seen absorbing the soul of anyone in canon but during the postgame boss Soul Forgo, and in this case, it's Fecto Forgo's dream-like dimension. What I mean with "who" is dreaming it, is that the only canon source we have right now is ID-F86 and this will most likely be proven false when a new Kirby game comes out with Morpho Knight entering canon once more. The only other time that the Butterfly absorbs someone's soul to turn into Morpho Knight is when Galacta Knight is summoned during the events of the Guest Star ??? Star Allies Go! side mode. At first we assumed it absorbs the soul of a boss when it is about to die, but that could be the wrong interpretation. Instead, the butterfly infects the dreams of anybody who is asleep and collects the power of said boss that way. It can't use those powers outside of dreams, but it can use them as much as it wants once that boss is absorbed. (Also, Morpho Knight's title is Fluttering Dream Eater, which implies that it feeds on the dreams of others)

When Morpho Knight (and Chaos Elfilis) fight Kirby, they use many attacks seen from previous bosses. Namely Galacta Knight and Soul Bosses respectively, but how is it that Morpho Knight, who did not absorb Galacta Knight this time around is able to use his attacks? Now, this has been mentioned by some comments and videos (bear with me I only got the game 3 weeks ago and I played it spoiler free and just started reading about theories on it) but the Butterfly has canonically absorbed Galacta Knight at some point and then came back for revenge of some sort. But using my explanation, you can see where this is going. Galacta Knight or a Dream Friend has a dream where they fight each other, and in that dream Galacta Knight is absorbed by the butterfly. Morpho Knight is defeated, but that doesn't mean that it's truly gone because it's a dream and so when they wake up the butterfly was only defeated but not destroyed. We can also see in the opening cutscene that one of the butterflies or even the butterfly from Star Allies gets sucked in with Kirby. Later on, that butterfly infects Fecto Forgo who is hiding in a dimension with psychic power. Its own Dream Land. Fecto Forgo then somehow escapes from Morpho Knight as it is being defeated (the black silhouette) and we later see it at the end of the Ultimate Cup Z.

Ultimate Cup Z's final boss was an unexpected turn of events even for Announcer Waddle Dee. Before the "Soul Boss" phase of this battle, you have to use Mouthful Mode to break free the soul trapped inside just like you do with Elfilin in the normal version of the battle. But, without there being an Elfilin to complete Elfilis, a black orb replaces Elfilin. Interestingly, Chaos Elfilis Soul (as I call it) has all the attacks of previous Soul Bosses, even Marx. This is where I'm leaving it up to you, dear reader, to interpret this Soul Boss. Is this Soul Boss because it's the Soul of Elfilis just like other Soul Bosses? Or perhaps that this is the other half of the power that Morpho Knight has absorbed, and thusly was stolen by Elfilis afterwards. (Might I add... could Elfilis and Fecto Forgo be some sort of deformed Butterfly)

Hal and Nintendo ran out of ideas for the final boss of the ultimate cup Z and they just took fecto elfilis and made him white and red and gave him a third phase lmao

Chaos Elfilis' battle is when I felt Kirby and the Forgotten Land turned very Devil May Cry-like, hack n' slash, in terms of gameplay. Amazing
