I love riding my fixies ❤
ОтветитьIm 5k miles on my fixed for the year. Yes it can be your roadbike
ОтветитьThat has got to be 10 degrees c. Lol. Keep it fixed from Ohio.
ОтветитьI do it all the time.
It makes your legs hard and strong af.
That bike is so sexy btw :D
Love fixed and ss content! Thanks.
ОтветитьRecently got a fixie and automatically doubled my pb milage and top speeds ever since i switched my mtb i could only get maximum 24 mph unless going downhill with my fixie i can hit 30 before i cant keep the cadence up anymore and now i can do an entire mile in less then 8 minutes its insane i love it i use it for commuting store runs and then when i wana do tricks i just remove my rear rack and send it
Ответитьi dont ride with brakes your threatens have no power on me ahah (also i subscribed)
ОтветитьShit I did 50 miles on a Fixie with a bunch of people on road bikes and it was awesome
Ответитьhold up, hold up, now hear me out, fixed gear with front AND rear brakes ...
Ответить...used to ride ss on 50-100mile club runs.....good work out.....need good leg's too...you will get dropped on flat .... :)
ОтветитьI road ride on my fixed gear. It’s a lonley world.
Ответитьoh snap you got a cinelli!
ОтветитьWhat happened to the old beater Schwinn? I liked that thing.
ОтветитьMine sure is!
Ответитьwhy not use your road bike as a fixie?
ОтветитьThat is a sweet looking bike.
Ответитьi own the road version of this frame, its great!
ОтветитьWell in such low traffic areas fixies definitely can be used as road bikes but in conjested countries where u have u apply brakes every now and then, it would a nightmare to ride one.
ОтветитьLove riding my Surly Steamroller. Possibly my fav bike. It’s just a great connection riding fixed that you don’t get with geared bikes
ОтветитьSilly question here, but where'd you get that cap? Love that it's got a visor and earwarmers.
ОтветитьWhat kind of average speed can you hold on a fixed gear? I'm new to riding(as an adult). I have a road bike I can average(solo) about 18mph, 20 if I'm putting in some work, 22mph is what I can burst for short periods. I was looking at a fixie or something more road friendly I can just jump on and ride to exercise, w/o the need to put on bike shorts, a jersey and all the other crap. It's fine for a group ride, just feels kind of weird to wear solo lol.
ОтветитьRide what you want, what you enjoy, what you can afford, screw other peoples opinions.
ОтветитьYou sir, are a reasonable man, making reasonable statements. I applaud you.
ОтветитьMy buddy got me into fixed gears.
I wish he would of just sold me crack instead.
I raced on a fixie once and kept pace with a club group ride. Their captain hated it so much he tried to shake me off for a long time before giving up (he did not want to break his group up). Admit it was killing me even if the stretch was fairly flat and only 60Km. And no, I did not take any leads. :-)
ОтветитьI completely misunderstood the premise of this video, but I enjoyed it anyway
ОтветитьI only ride fixed. Its fun and makes you climb hills better. Cheers Spindatt!!!
ОтветитьNice vigorelli steel!
ОтветитьCan a fixie be your road bike? Yes and no!
Yes, because you have 1000s of KMs on your legs, you have the legs to push up long hill climbs and you can do the distance.
No, if you are a beginner or haven't jumped on a bike since you were a kid and don't have the experience of handling a bike. If you have done a little bit of riding, you might be able to ride short distances, but most likely get of and walk that long hill climb.
In the end, it is your physical ability to ride a fixie.
Fixed gear bikes are really close to road bikes if u don't have much hills on your way.
700c wheels with thin road tires check
drop bars check (u can go with flat but for me drops are better when u put more than 50 miles)
lightweight (sometimes even lighter than road bikes for less $)
kinda road geometry
damn what else do u need to put some miles on it :)
I am on a tight budget and want to buy one of them. But I want to have a freewheel instead of fixed gear. Is it possible?
ОтветитьEric, my fat bike is a fixie right now, your welcome to borrow if it you wan some off road snow fun sometime
ОтветитьI kinda want a fixie, but I don't think they'd go too well up the 30-40% hills where I live. The simplicity of them is really nice though
ОтветитьA great consideration is it takes minimal money to fix a fixed gear (hah) if you have a solid starting build. Which is still cheap. It’s so much cheaper, a much better workout (hill climbs), and (subjective) much more fun. I always keep a front emergency brake on there for city riding though!
ОтветитьThe Tour de France was originally raced on fixed gear bikes.
ОтветитьNo road bike, been riding my track bike on the road for 6 years
ОтветитьMy favorite type of cereal is hipster and douche
ОтветитьGreat video. I built a single speed last fall and got 600+ kilometres on it before winter. Love the simplicity, not full blown fixie but I'm old and my knees just wouldn't hold up. I normally ride 80s road bikes but in 2022 I'll be on the single speed for the majority of my rides.
ОтветитьSAY NO! to derailleurs.
ОтветитьI just want to know why the grip tape doesn’t match? That beautiful Cinelli deserves a proper fit. Nahmsayin?
Ответитьwhy would you fuck up your face with a piercing like that
ОтветитьNope lol
ОтветитьI rode a track bike as a bike messanger in Philadelphia in the 90s without a break and my knees hate me for it. Its 2022 and I still ride a fixie and knees still hate me. But that is really all I know when it comes to riding bike...
ОтветитьI used to do my evening rides of ~30k on a fixed gear bike, which was fun. You spin your legs for the whole time and don't get to slack off with coasting. But, I have to say, at some point I found riding the road bike again more enjoyable. But, you can defenitly use a fixed gear bike for a lot of riding.
ОтветитьA lot of people are just not ready to work harder on a fixed gear
ОтветитьI found fixed bikes dangerous. Single speed are safer i believe
Ответитьi used to ride a trek 5200 carbon road bike but i snapped it on the roads doing food delivery. I switched to a track bike to be like the cool guys and when it rained i took my front brake off. I now ride brakeless and skid around looking like a g
Ответитьi really want to buy a fixie...
