Shiori could have had this as a members only stream. but allowing all her fans to see the BTS shows the love she has for her community.
ОтветитьThank you for the educational stream! Learned a lot of interesting stuffs on it. I still can't help but be amazed on how close your works are to game developing, I think it's really cool! Also really interesting on how much editing skills that comes in to play too!
Mira the Shiori-like went south real fast LOL
I'm almost a 100% certain the Gwyndolin AI thing is related to his "relationship" with Aldrich from DS3. But him just going bloop bloop suddenly IS weird.
I cannot imagine the world without internet anymore. With content creator feeling drained, I can only imagine on how it happens. The need to be creative while also needing it to be constant would definitely burn out someone eventually. They can take a rest for sure, but some don't even have that option...
Also, interesting seeing on how vtubing has become mainstream. I'm glad that it got big since it helped many people, and that it has introduced me to many great vtubers. But I also kiinda miss the time when it was a little secret for my little weeb self to enjoy, just a little. 🤏
Again, thank you for all of your hardwork for this project! Really really appreciate it!
Been feeling overwhelmed recently, so I've been struggling to keep up with everything in tabs. Looking back at the VOD, it fills me with motivation.
Ty for showing us your BTS and thought processes for the project, Shiori Again, it's always impressive that you basically made it from the ground up and by yourself besides mentoring and community assets. Reminds me that (well, maybe a pipe dream), I'd like to do some STEM things like re-learn some computer science, like this interesting CS language that prob. cuts to the heart of CS & its origins. It's like CS's "deep lore" ig ww. Speaking of which, I don't know this CS language well besides reputation, but I do hear that Python is easier to learn than a lot of other ones (certainly Lisp, the one I'm interested in lol). In CS, they taught us that for planning (considering that code can seem arcane compared to human language), we could do "pseudo-code" which iirc is like "brainstorming" code by writing it as close to normal English while still looking like CS code logic. Examples might be like: "If X happens, then do Y (or) do Z" or ig more specifically, "If X happens, then add 100 to value Y" for some prototypical conditional statements (or ofc, if-then statements for simpler jargon ww). Anyway, Python's reputation afaik is that it's one of the CS languages closest to that kinda pseudo-code and therefore normal English as opposed to smth like from Lisp: "USER: (* 2 (cos 0) (+ 4 6))" which I imagine could look more like math or the techno-witchcraft people think goes on cyberpunk stories like The Matrix's code rain ww. Speaking of technical stuff/details tho, you make the new features you're finding in your model sound like little easter eggs that Kayahara-mama/the animator or rigger left for you . It'll always be cute, I'm sure~ You're right, we (and I) are gonna miss you a lot when you're with the Nyakuza Iirc I 1st really started taking an interest in watching you when you were away last fall, and even then kinda missed you for just not being able to interact yet. But welcomed you warmly too when you got back, esp. bc you got sick on that trip I do remember the holiday posts and twitterspaces last Christmas too ofc Tysm for everything you do and are, Shiori-hime, we're gonna adore and miss you in equal amounts when it happens 💕
ОтветитьThanks for the stream and an amazing October in general! I always love your BTS stuff. Your passion and knowledge provides really fascinating insight. Duskmire is one of your best works yet and I enjoyed seeing you improve your skills from all the way back on the Valentines streams. And of course, I appreciate how much you include the community in these big projects of yours. October was a hectic month for me, so I couldn't participate, but I still enjoyed the levity your streams gave. It's been fun with all the theming you've done for both September and October. And your Dark Night cover was amazing as well. Each cover is better than the last so I hope to hear more from you. Also, I never got a chance to say it, but thank you for the Meet and Greet too! I come off pretty sarcastic irl, so I just want you to know I really admire all the content you do, and I hope the Dimitri merch gets to you soon. Again, thanks for the amazing month and get some rest soon
ОтветитьThank you for the BTS stream, Shiori.
These streams are always great because we get to not only hear you nerd out about the project, but also see the thought process behind it's creation, spot some of the more subtle details that might not have been noticed, and see you already have ideas of what improvements you can make for future projects.Loved seeing some of the test dialogue you had too~I did have a vague idea of how collision functioned in games, but you taught the process in a clear way that was very easy to understand.
Honestly, you really did put a huge amount of effort into this project and you did an absolutely amazing job with it. It was really cool to see what needed to be in place to make the dialogue system work. I feel like that's something I've often taken for granted in games, so it was nice to see it from the creator's side of things. Also, this is more or less a shot in the dark with the texture shadows popping in, but I'm assuming that it could be something related to the shadow's render distance settings, if that is a value you can adjust.
Being able to hear a creator's perspective is honestly very insightful and, while it's not a common topic that's frequently brought up, I really appreciate you talking about content creation as a whole from your perspective. Describing it as something to suck out your soul didn't sound weird either and, as a viewer/consumer, it's...not something that all of us think about often. I don't know if I'll ever be able to properly put it into words in the way that I wish to, but genuinely, thank you for all of the hard work that you do both on and off stream, Shiori.
I hope that you had a pleasant rest of your night and enjoyed your din din.
Thanks for the stream Shiori
ОтветитьI really loved the Inkwell Halloween Town. The style design, hidden Easter eggs, the Pumpkin Queen's adorable walking style, and the final gathering of the entire HoloEN all had different surprises! I enjoyed your BTS stream so much, listening to you talk about how you created such a large-scale scene step by step—I truly admire you. Thank you, Shiori, for spoiling us and letting us experience such a perfect project! The white wolf outfit looked amazing and cute! Hope you have a great rest and eat well.
ОтветитьReally cool to see the inner workings of the Unity Scene here The earlier builds with the test dialogue were great(That Pokey lore is quite interesting) Seems like such a complicated undertaking
The unused stuff was a cool thing to see too! I liked the other colors of your wraith outfit but the white definitely contrasts and pops the most
Some great yapping too. You headed off into some bizarre territory with that AI huh? Thank you for the look behind the curtain, Shiori
Thank you so much for the stream! I adore watching BTS content like this - getting to both learn a thing or two about how cool stuff like this works AND witnessing firsthand all the passion and effort you put in for us is always absolutely lovely! Especially with how much I adore Duskmire and it's atmosphere. definitely taking pokey being gay as canon thank you very much You explained things really well!
The new outfit is absolutely adorable; I think the white version is really the best option you could've gone with for it! The black is nice in its own right, but the white really makes a more substantial alteration to your color scheme; it feels more distinct. Also looks very fluffy
I've always been of the opinion that being a streamer or a content creator is one of the most... all-consuming things you can do, I think; it's something that really consumes and "infects" all of your life, just as you said. You really gotta be passionate to keep doing it for an extended period of time and not go insane I think. It seems very prone to inducing burnout and also very prone to making a person keep going even despite that... That's why I'll always encourage taking breaks and rests whenever you feel like it.
Looking forward to TTS Yorick, and please don't worry about vanishing - do what you must do. We'll be waiting for you to get back
Thank you for the bts stream! You put so much effort on this one and we can't thank you enough(not that we won't try). I did manage to watch the Halloween vod afterwards and enjoyed every bit of it! Thanks again Shiori and I wish you good travels when you vanish and hopefully you rest a bit too!!❤❤❤
ОтветитьShiorin so cute and creative
ОтветитьThank you for the bts and nerding out to us. Seeing how much effort you put into this project and preparing all this for us was inspiring and motivates me to get back into my passions again. It was super interesting to see how things were set up and the process to get the final product. And seeing your costume again made me super happy! It's so cute and I didn't know you made it yourself! Sasuga Shiori Hopefully I'll get to participate in the next project.
Ответитьkawaii!!
ОтветитьI really enjoy these kinds of streams. I've seen so much wonderful work, but I've never quite understood how it's done. Watching this makes me admire the creators so much, because it clearly involves a lot of effort. Even though I don't know much about coding and the technical aspects, it's amazing to see something start from scratch and turn into what we experience. This VOD is really cool. Thank you for your hard work!
ОтветитьInteresting to see all the things that went into the Unity stream and testing things with your 3D model! Also loved discussing AI chatbots, content creation and VTubing! Congrats on the perms you got too!
ОтветитьThank you for the BTS stream, Shiori.
It was a very happy time for me to listen to you in a very relaxed atmosphere.
It's been a great learning experience and I really appreciate the tremendous effort you put in for us. And I think it's very cool that you show us behind the scenes like this.
Have a good rest, Shiori
as a small indie level designer in unity and unreal engine here are some tips for some issues:
for unmatched height:
- as you have already said that its better to scale down assets according to your character size, but as a quick fix, you could also scale up your character size to match with the height of the doors
for world building:
- before adding all assets, you could create a blockout level first with primitive shapes, e.g. with cylinders, cubes, spheres etc., where you can freely adjust their size and positions, after that its easier to build the levels with final assets, but only ofc if the time allows too, e.g. sometimes I didn't have time, so I kinda had to blockout in my mind rly quickly and apply it in the engine immediately
- if you wanna experiment with colors and lighting for your setting, creating a diorama first helps a lot, e.g. add core assets like 1x house, 1x pumpkin, 1x traffic light and the ground, then apply it in your world
for the house and toilet novelite:
- you can easily remove all colliders from exported assets, they often come with mesh colliders, sometimes it is hard to find them if the asset has many children, so you gotta go through them to delete the mesh collider
- then you can add 3D box colliders and dont worry to add multiple ones in 1 asset, it won't break normally, e.g. you need 5x box colliders for the walls: 1x in the back, 1x left, 1x right, 2x in the front with a gap between them, so your character can enter the house
- you can adjust each collider individually to match the size of the walls and positions
for the water environment:
- you've mentioned that it didn't work really well, since the ground couldn't be below z=0 (unless I understood you wrongly), for that you can just increase the Z-position so the ground would start at z=100 to create enough space for slopes to create a lake
- since you have alrdy placed a lot of environment assets, instead of lifting assets 1 by 1, an easy and a controlled way would be: in the hierarchy you create an empty gameobject first but make sure to reset its location at x=0, y=0, z=0 because unity always put it where the camera is viewing in the old versions (unless they have finally updated to remove this nonsense), then mark all assets which you want to lift up, an easy way would be to use "ctrl + a", deselect assets which you dont want to adjust, and drag it to the newly created gameobject
- then put the gameobject e.g. at z=100 and voila
for that 1 tree which screwed you over:
- if you can't add any children to the tree, it might work if you put the tree as a child instead and the other assets also as a child, so first you create an empty gameobject and then drag and drop the tree (inc. its children) in the empty gameobject, then you can add other assets such as lanterns etc. as additional children, then you would have child1 = tree, child 2 = lantern A, child 3 = Lantern B, etc.
to avoid setting up manually for every asset, e.g. for layer, dialogue and sound options:
- you can create a prefab with all the basic settings, e.g. for layer and sound options, then you can place it in your world, duplicate and customize it and dont worry, you can adjust everything individually and it won't overwrite other duplicated prefabs in your scene, unless you want to
- how to do: create an empty gameobject with 0, 0, 0 axis again and rename as you want, then add all components which you need, like the dialogue component etc. and change all required settings like to the right layer, then you select the gameobect and drag them to your folder, where all your assets are normally located (you could also create a new folder for prefabs for better organization), a unity prompt will appear and select 'original prefab'
- you can also make prefab variants to save the settings of all individuals from the scene, e.g. when you have created novelite A and B with that base prefab with new values, you can select the parent and drag it to your prefab folder, a unity prompt ask you again, but this time you select 'prefab variant' instead, that way you can adjust the values individually without opening the scene
- prefab variants works like children, e.g. if you change the size from the base prefab (the parent), all variants will get changed as well but not vice versa (unless variants have overwrites, then it won't change immediately but you can force it)
I might add more stuff later on when I have finished the VOD, but I have to continue my work now since I have a crucial deadline tomorrow (and sorry for my bad english lol)
ld
Thanks Shiorin!
ОтветитьWith DST over for you I can't stay until the end of the streams now since they're one hour late... But I'm always watching it when I can and damn, this whole project seems too tedious to do, having to add every little detail, add every little sound bit, maybe with scripts it really does get easier but I'm really impressed with how you did it almost all by yourself, I would have headaches if I had to do these projects. But that zatsu at the end is what soothes me, hearing you talk about AI then content creation was the best ❤️ Hope you get to rest in these breaks
ОтветитьThanks for showing this off, it's easy to see how a big project like this would be stress-inducing, but I think your passion and hard work come through clearly, and it all paid off in the end!
ОтветитьThanks for this BTS Shiori!!! I learned a lot and now i honestly would want to learn more about Unity on my own
Im not an Artist or a Writer but after seeing how HAPPY my fellow Novelites were for participating in your Unity Projects i now want to join the party, so i will give my best to draw or write something worthy of it Keep up the great work!!!
I've been a suscriber since debut but i only joined both the Membership and the community a month and a half ago and im very happy with that decision so far. Hope the best for you and to the other Novelites
I'm glad we could have a nice relaxing stream where you show off your hard work to the Novelites and just chill.
ОтветитьI want to ask you is it holo advent is a hero or anti hero or villain or anti villain ?
Ответить☺️☺️☺️💜✨️🥰🥰🥰💜💕💜💕✨️
ОтветитьThank you for the stream!
ОтветитьIt was nice seeing the behind of scenes of how you made Duskmire! I had no idea you made the town that huuuuuge. There's so much space to fit in a lot more and I do hope you can expand it more in the future!
ОтветитьWooow coool❤❤😮
ОтветитьThank you so much for blessing us with all this fantastic behind-the-scenes knowledge, Shiori! I love how you always take the time off to give us insight into how everything behind the curtain looks and works! It's so interesting to see how you build these creative large-scale projects and all the work and effort that goes into ensuring everything properly works for us to watch! Your dedication to your projects truly shines, and your immense passion for everything you do makes things even more exciting to be a part of!
ОтветитьAwesome yap and half there. Thank you for letting us in your insights.
🙏
Good to know the BTS of the Halloween Town and the process of it. Thanks for the stream, Shiori. See you next stream.
ОтветитьThat you for the chill stream today, Shiori! I'm always interested in how projects like these are planned out and to see the different iterations that lead up to the final product. Seeing your enthusiasm for the things that interest you is quite infectious. Your yap session after the behind-the-scenes portion of the stream was a fun listen, as well. You did a phenomenal job with what you had to work with on the Halloween project and I'm sure that future projects will be better now that you have more experience with Unity and its intricacies.
Hope you have fun on your vacation, whenever that happens. Take care and see you next stream!
I don't find the topic of speaking about the un-glamorize sides of streaming an off putting topic. If anything I tend to feel it cathartic in some ways, and cozy in remembering past communities where these sort of talks would happen that aren't really around anymore for one reason or another.
I tend to feel a lot of people under estimate the down sides of trying to be a creator online and only think of the success stories or other positive stuff when it comes to creating online, so it is nice (imo) when we the audience get reminders that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows because it serves as a reminder to appreciate the content creators we enjoy while we can.
I probably won't join you and other novelites in Eden Eternal as I plan to jump back into another anime mmorpg in the coming days to grind out the seasonal events, but I look forward to the character creation and learning the ropes non the less.
Thanks for the chill behind the scenes showcase Shiori I really love these , we get to see how much of a hardworker, our adorable archiver can be and some of the obstacles along the way of making unique streams that she encounters and how she archives the mistakes along the way to keep improving on her projects. It allows us to appreciate the challenges entertainers face when trying to entertain us.
Also watching you cast SFX magic and playing with the models is very entertaining to see. It was a relaxing stream, so thanks for hosting it Shiori
Thank you for the BTS stream, Shiori!
You really put a lot of time and hard work into creating Duskmire into a beautiful and spooky town. I learned quite a lot about how you put all into its place.
Thanks for yapping as well. I always love the yapping and going on some random topics. It's quite fun and chill to yap.
Take care and rest well, Shiowi!
The Duskmire project is very pretty and I hope you find the inspiration to continue to innovate on it.
The way you explained how you have to do everything by hand to give life to our Novelite paper dolls really teases something in the software developer in me who says that there must be way to make your life easier but saying it aloud might also come across as rude. I don't want to belittle your efforts or spoil the learning process. You're doing great! Perhaps better understanding of Unity I would content me with the process as "that's just something you have to do".
Thank you for the stream, Shiori! Another insightful and comfy BTS stream today. I don't think I will ever get tired gushing over all the hard work and effort you put into these Unity scenes and projects because my god, I'm always amazed at the passion and dedications you put into each and every one of them for us. It really does make all of us Novelites appreciate you even more and like I have said so many times before you 100% deserve all the love coming your way. And as always, I really enjoy the yapping session afterwards as well. A great way to unwind for a little bit before having to dive back into work tonight.
As always, thank you for all the hard work Shiorin~ Hope you have a great night!
