A Sawyer Water Filter is/should be one of the most basic items in any BOB.

Be honest, most of this gear you already have in a different form. A knife or multitool, a trashbag or waterproof bag, waterproofing spray, canned goods or rice and beans or mre's, matches, lighter, first aid kid, etc. If you ain't got a gun or a Camelback, get em. Paracord is easy to find and a ferro rod is a waste. Use dryer lint or cotton balls in Vaseline for fire starters. Any good multipurpose knife is a must, Gerber LMF is my fav. Maps and compasses and headlights with red-light option is good idea

Wasn't really impressed and found this to be more like an infomercial for commission-based products. Most of this stuff was gimmicky and I would definitely pick other options that cost less and are more practical. Also, NEVER buy a premade survival gear pack, always make your own.
