"Downloading Expansion Sounds from the Axial Site" JUNO-DS Quick Start #11

I figured it out! Before the Juno will let you download anything, the Juno has to format your usb drive FIRST. Put your usb in and follow these instructions: Press MENU.
Cursor to "UTILITY" and press ENTER.
Cursor to "FORMAT USB MEMORY" and press ENTER.
Cursor to "OK" and press ENTER.

Hi there! Can this EXP file add or remove pitch variations in it?

the usb must be empty . containing only the exp. it worked well

It seems that it only accepts USB formated with FAT32, but the ones I have that can be formatted in FAT32 is too small. The bigger one (128GB) is not accepted by the Juno.

I’ve just downloaded a pack an recorded a sequence with some of the new voices. I wonder what’s going to happen to it when I replace that pack and those voices are gone. ??

Los sonidos AXIAL no se pueden guardar en el teclado, debes mantener conectada la USB. Si cargas otra colección AXIAL, verás el nombre de los sonidos que guardaste, pero no se escucharán; deberás cargar de nuevo la colección a donde pertenece lo que ya habías guardado para que escuches los sonidos. En el YAMAHA MOX sí puedes guardar sonidos en 3 bancos de 128 voces cada uno (384 en total) y además puedes respaldarlos en una USB.

Does anyone know if it's somehow possible to install sounds other than the ones from the Axial site? I find those acoustic piano sounds very poor...

I followed the exact procedure as displayhed in this video and it worked for me. An enormous amoutn of sounds in just 1 expansion pack and you can download 10 of them. You have to choose for one, but they can all be stored on 1 usb stick, so you can change is you want; but it takes 5 minutes then. I still don't know what the EXP packages do and how you install these. They are very very small and seem to be only parameters. Can anyone explain?

How do you get new sounds on the roland juno di?

Does Adding additional expansions overwrite the previous expansion you already have in memory? Or can all 17 expansion packs be within the machine at once ?

Can you use these packs on any of the roland synths? Or are these packs all made for a specific synth to download. When you "select your synth", are the ones that come up the only ones that work on it?

Wow that's incredibly frustrating that they don't make it clear when you buy the keyboard that you can only use one EXP at a time. What's the point of having them if I can't utilize them all for live performance? You should be able to write the sounds you want to the keyboard

Hi...can someone help me....i downloaded the expansion sounds from the site....unrared them to their .bin and .jxl files and placed them in a USB and connected it to my Juno Ds88.....but none of the files are displayed in the juno DS...as itf the USB is empty!!!!!!.....please help....

So when I install an expansion pack does it replace all of the sounds that come with it from the factory? Do you have factory preset soudns + expansion pack or does the expansion pack just replace all of the sounds?

Habe es nach 3 Versuchen geschafft ! Der Juno DS spielt die Sounds der EXP-01 bis 10. Das Laden dauert recht lange ......Für Live-Einsatz zuuuu lange. Da muss ich mal versuchen, die gewünschten Sounds auf eine Bank zu kriegen....... Aber heißes Teil ! It´s a good buy ! ;-)

QUESTION: only the "electronic collection" gave me the BIN file. the others all give a JXL file which no program I have will open, which the juno doesn't read. I've been searching for info on this all over google, and am shocked there's nothing about this?

Is there a way to extract the waveforms from the BIN file? I'd love to be able to mix and match files from different expansion packs, essentially creating a new BIN/ZIP that's a single bank just of the stuff I find most useful. Tried doing it with an unzip utility and all it does is duplicate the original.

JV expansion for DS works with my di on most patches at least the good ones and some may need removing effects for better sound but i got them and the blade runner one sounds awesome...also how do you extract the samples from the bin files for my abelton since i have a di ohh well still i have mpc samples

Hola, perdon, pero tengo versiones encontradas al respecto de este teclado que me acabo de comprar hace unos meses. Dado que los sonidos de piano son muy malos, sin consistencia, latosos, no hay edicion que los salve, pense en la posibilidad de cargar via pendrive un buen piano virtual, del tipo de Alicia Keys, Galaxy Stenway, Ivory de Ilio o alguno similar. Es eso posible en este sintetizador??. Me refiero sin tener que estar llevando la notebook a donde toque. Simplemente cargarle ese piano virtual o una libreria virtual si es que no permite cargar un solo piano via pendrive o si es que no da la capacidad con algun disco rigido externo.... Agradeceria mucho que alguien me de la certeza de que lo puedo hacer, porque si bien estoy contento con las funciones del sinte y muchos de los otros sonidos que vienen cargados, estoy muy decepcionado con los pianos, y no hay edicion que los salve. Hay gente que me dijo que si se puede y gente que me ha dicho que no, que solamente se pueden disparar pistas via usb, pero no cargar pianos virtuales. Muchas gracias
