(perhaps sufficient headroom is enough to support this usage) ... but it was a revelation to me ... I´ve always been foggy about embarking / disembarking; boarding; alighting... ... thank you ...

This is a person. because is is non action verb or a linking verb that doesn't need an object but subject complement instead,so a person doesn't act as an object.

Dear Rupert, I attended this session with you after almost 10 to 15 days of break. Today's session was unbelievably good. The use of correct prepositions is really a difficult task. Most of the time, I got confused regarding the proper use of prepositions. In today's session, you covered a lot. Regarding the length, 20 to 30 minutes for a session is good enough. I am grateful to you for your contribution to teaching English.
