Counterpoint to not having skill based matchmaking: without being exposed to strong players often, you don't learn the game as quickly or as well. If you don't learn at your own pace, you won't grow as much at all.

Thus, without skill based matchmaking, the majority of players will be around the level of people trying to wind down after a long day at work. Not as many players would be that good, and so the experience for most people be around the same. Extremely good players would be rarer as the effort of finding good people to practice with is often too time consuming for people that are not actually that interested in getting better at the game.

Skillbased matchmaking increases the amount of people good at the game on average and encourages skill growth. Without it, the game becomes far less sweaty. Remember, most games did not have skill based matchmaking way back in the day but we also didn't have as many people doing esports for those games. Those communities wound up smaller with their competitive scenes.

Toejam & Earl is one of my all-time game franchises (and yeah it's from 1991). I won't say this one is the highest point of the series (I will forever think the first one is the best), but I still remember many parts of it fondly. I remember drawing the 0-level map on multiple papers taped together with colored pens, still have it somewhere.

I think maybe what viewers might be noticing is that, we know reviewing is hard work and there is not enough t time to get to everything...and yet you made the time for Destiny Rising. Dont get me wrong, you like what you like and that is ok..but my guess at people saying "conspiracy" is more of a hard-lined version of people begging you to cover this.
