What psi did you find best for the white ink. I was having some issues with mine getting pushed a little too strong.
ОтветитьThis looks awesome but how would you paint a large tank like the Gladiator like this ?
ОтветитьThe reactivation is an issue for people because amateur painters will always not get the application perfect first time. They will want to locally correct errors. Otherwise fantastic video and gorgeous model.
ОтветитьTurns out the secret to painting minis in just 20 minutes is the four hours of prep you do beforehand. Who knew.
ОтветитьWhat's up with the deep red lipstick you have on?
ОтветитьMost involved 20mins ever
ОтветитьGreat video , I have been trying to find the video from goobertown to see how in depth he goes on his under value painting but can’t seem to find
Ответитьyeah 20 mins paint time but 20 mins waiting time for the paint to dry after changing colours.
ОтветитьI only have the starter set for these and tried them out a week ago on the miniatures for the Unsettled board game. I found that the gray in the starter set over plain white primer (which was how these paints were originally promoted) game out too light with very little variation. Saw a video ( might have been Goobertown) using a black base coat with white dry brush , similar to your method. Too dark. I ended up using a Uniform Gray base coat, then a white dry brush. Came out pretty nice. Not nearly as good as yours but decent. I didn’t know about the matte coat step, though I was using primer and a dry brush and not air, so I don’t think I had any issues with messing up those coats. Still, I want to lie these paints very much but I think I need more experience with them first. Also, the different colors behave differently from what I’ve seen; some work better than others I think.
ОтветитьDid you use white paint and not white primer for the airbrush layer?? I think i mis-saw this the first time and did it with white primer
ОтветитьAll the comments here waffling on and factoring in waiting time for drying and the like... utter foolishness. Use a bit of common sense, it's 20 mins of painting effort, not 20 mins setting a stop watch from start to go. Who the hell ever factors in drying time, or expects this to be 20 mins start to finish.
Bottom line, thus tute is all about showing how speedpaints can be used as a single coat solution with some care taken to the undercoat to provide a natural gradient in speedpaint colour. And it does a great job at that.
And to those other fools whining about setup and clean-up of an airbrush, totally overinflating the actual time it should take... pull your head in or learn how to be quick and effective with the airbrush as a tool.
So to look amazing with speedpaint or contrast you need 300 steps to paint before applying speedpaint vs 300 steps after base coating with the normal paints. It looks the same effort and time to me. I apply the contrast or speedpaint above the primer and that's it. That is what these paints were made to do.
ОтветитьThe fact that you can remove speed paints with a damp brush up to almost 6 hours later? That’s actually pretty cool. I would Use them like watercolors or gouache and go darker than I need and then remove some off the highest points or reactivates it with lighter colors for easy blending🤔 looks very interesting to me. 👍🏼
ОтветитьGreat vid! Any Army Speedpaint recommendation for Space Wolves’ blue?
ОтветитьI have no interest in air brushing wish people didn't shove it down my throat every video lol.
Good video otherwise
very nice result, thanks for the video!
ОтветитьArmy painter don't sell to canadians..
ОтветитьFor the Wash Step, may "Gloss Nuln Oil" work just as well?
ОтветитьIs the Marvel Crisis Protocol Tutorial video upload pending? I have checked the channel, can't seem to find it. cheers, thank you again for the content, sharing, and community support.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial but I am still hesitant to buy these paints since the colors all seem to be very bright and give minis a cartoonish look if you know what I mean. It works for Space Marines but I would like to see a tutorial on how to paint something like zombies where you want a dark, dirty look on your miniatures. I still can't see myself achieving this with Army Painter Speedpaints, so if you can come up with a convincing approach I would very much appreciate it!
ОтветитьJust to clarify; what was the total work time (excluding drying) and number of work layers in this ~20 minutes one coat solution?
ОтветитьMiss your live twitch painting
ОтветитьWhat color do you use for the gold trim?
ОтветитьInteresting that you mention to NOT load up your brush; some other Speedpaint videos recommended loading up the brushes to let gravity draw the paint down, especially on Space Marine shoulder pads.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that likes the look of the drybrush better than the ink/spray from the top???
Ответитьhave you tried speed paint through an airbrush
ОтветитьMy set came in today. I'll be doing a full army of death Guard and would like to go through all the smaller dudes pretty quickly.
ОтветитьI am painting minis for the last 25 years. I ordered the mega set and should reach me on monday. A whole blank Deamon Army for Kings of War is waitíng on my desk for it to soak it up. Can't wait to see what I can do with that.
ОтветитьMy highlord blue looks nothing like this. It's way darker and super streaky
ОтветитьI want an Airbrush, but my wife said "No."
Ответитьdo you give the model 2 magic blue layers? seem like mine is abit "thin"
Ответить"So, I hear you, 'I don't want to buy an airbrush'........ let me then tell you that I don't care about your financial situation, lack of any space with proper ventilation for it, or any other reasons why you don't have an airbrush. Let me tell you that you're wrong, and then produce a tutorial you can't use, after making you aware that I don't care you can't use it." Disliked, won't stop by the channel again.
ОтветитьCan I accomplish this with out a air brush?
ОтветитьI was not ready for the phrase "whatever tickles your hobby pickle"......
ОтветитьHahah what kind of Chcolate milk you drink? All joke aside I like the chocolate milk idea.
ОтветитьWait, are you airbrushing without a respirator?
ОтветитьI'm new to the hobby and this video definitely is not noob friendly. I did an Army Painter Speedpaint Tutorial search (because the one coat and done is appealing for my gaming purposes), and I'm over 1/2 way through the video and haven't seen the Speedpaints used yet. I thought it was just prime and go. And you're using all these terms like glaze, matte finish (is that something like a varnish to protect the primer?), and mixing stuff in caps and I'm totally lost lol.
Ответитьspeedpaint video: :D
using an airbrush: :/
Hi! I am loosing my mind trying to figure it out If it’s possible to paint with this fast painting technique a white Space Marine. Usino The same protocol but with white power armor. Thank you so much
Ответитьwhy dont you use white primer over the black one? I wont come out and its cheaper.
ОтветитьLooking for a Speedpaint tutorial on a Space Marine...reading the title...Wow, 20 minutes! How long does it take him to basecoat and drybr....nah, just another Airbrush vid...😢
ОтветитьThese speed paints are great. They came out during a period when I wasn't actively modelling, so I didn't know about them. When I tried them for the first time, I was really, really surprised at the result I got. Didn't take much extra effort to get my mini looking good, and it instilled confidence in me to try painting more figures, and figures with more and more details.
ОтветитьSerious question- how would you use this technique for White Scars? Just not paint over the armor plate?
ОтветитьHello, I just stumbled on this video and thought it looked amazing! Do you reckon this method also works with Contrast or Vallejo Xpress? Since I don't have Speedpaint yet.
ОтветитьHow to speed paint... Says "leaves it over night"
