You can use a light exercise band to keep the rings from spreading when you first start.
Drape it through both rings and put your hands on top of it to lock it in place.
Definitely try struggling without the band at first. When you can't control the rings anymore, use the band.
This will extend your workout. The longer your workouts, the faster you will progress. (Within reason.)
Watch out for rusty steel beams and bars.
They can saw through your nylon straps and leave you flat on your ass.

This is not beginner at all..
I have small hands. Do you recommend 1.25'' or 1.1'' rings? Does it really matter if your goal is Crossfit and calisthenics instead of gymnastics?

At 61 I've always been an athlete and have transitioned form all types of maintenance exercises at the very BORING gyms for Running, MTB & Swimming. However, calisthenics; especially with RINGS, has turned maintenance exercising into another sport. And I don't have to go to the gym to do it!

ОтветитьTried the rings for the first time ever today did a muscle up and damn it was super shaky. I already have a decent strength on pull up bars doing muscle ups with 5-10kg plate but the rings are just different 💀

ОтветитьJust got my rings. Despite continuously working out for 2 years, I got DOMS after doing dips and pushups on the rings for the first time. The increased ROM and instability puts huge tension on the muscles.

Olympic rings are great , harder than parallel bar , more strength is required , That skin the cat move can be done on the bar as well , not hard at all . Rings maybe be a challenge.... :) Great video guys , well done !
