book purists are the last people you should listen to the kind of people who completetly miss the entire theme of tolkiens work being to inspire but when people get inspired go "BU..BUT THATS NOT HOW IT HAPPENED" then shit themselves

My parents bought me this game as a kid because I loved LotR. I had great fun playing this at 12-20fps on our shit box computer. Is it good no. Do i love it... yes, unapologetically

Ralph Bakshi's was the best adaptation despite taking some liberties of its own.

A graphical glitch I ran into with odd regularity involved newly trained units. Sometimes vertices on their model would shoot off into space, turning the unit into a non-euclidian mess that covered most of the screen.

Of course the voice acting is good. It has an absolutely INCREDIBLE cast of voice actors, including the ever-brilliant Tony Jay.

On the other hand some of us read every game magazine each month cover to cover 3 times and have forgotten absolutely nothing. This game lives rent free in my head and I never played it in any form…

Oh… my god. I think I actually had this. And yes I bought it, because I was done with Warcraft 3 and this was similar. Also it was somehow magical to play this.

Just replaying though the evil campaign right now. I haven't had such fun with an RTS for a long time!

I need a Force unleashed review

I've been a die hard Middle Earth fan for as long as i can remember and this game is my favorute out of all the ME games. Visuals, music and voice acting were all made this the most immersive Middle Earth game for me. Sure the actual gameplay was nothing special but i still spent countless hours on skirmish maps with easy opponents just to soak in the atmosphere and build bases. My copy of the game had also voice acting in my native language and it was really special, especially for the time. It added to the experience for me. Also some of the tracks in the OST then later used in the LOTRO game.

I remember getting the exact same bug as a kid in the saruman mission. I cannot express how angry it made me as a kid I literally threw my keyboard hc I had no idea why it wouldn't work.

Many years ago my dad got a laptop that came with this game and the ground control series. I spent so many hours playing these games. This video brought me back.

After seeing what the estate endorses, I do not recognize them as a legitimate authority on LotR.
