Like the F-16 the F-5 could play a major roll in upcoming conflicts. Yes the F-22 and F-35 are great but they can be assisted by the F-16 and F-15 in combat operations. If we had Large numbers of F-5' they could be used on unconventional runways. With today's technology and armaments the F-5 would be useful.

The F-5 is definitely underrated. I think there was an issue with knowing more could be done. 🤔

The F5 Freedom Fighter, F5 Tiger 2 and F20 Tigershark are my all time favorite low cost fighter jets.

Politics kept the "5" from being the success it deserved back in its development. I`ts simplicity and economics should keep this fighter in the air a long time in any air force and stand up to anyone, even 5th gen fighters.

The biggest flaw of the F5 was it's large turning radius, compared to the small weight and length of the jet. That's no wonder because of the small wings. That's why the F16 is clearly better than the F20 because the F16 has a much tighter turning radius....

A great design to begin with. Still around today. The F-5 was the budget friendly fighter. Made the F-4 & F-105 look fat & clumsy.

The F-5E, or F-5F, or the F-5N, are absolutely great aircraft, JUST look, what Iran has done with them, > UNLICENSED: they've basically created the F-18.. .. Back in 1964 when I was 9yrs old, the f5 was the very first airplane model I ever bought and put together using cement glue. I remember being pretty proud of the work that I had done. From that day forward it was my favorite jet. It is the most beautiful jet ever produced!

I love the F5 in DCS. I never really got into DCS, too complex for me and not enough time to learn all the systems of the Hornet and such. Then I got to try the F5, it was much more easy to understand and it's a fun plane to fly around with. Really in love with this light fighter.

Close air support! Any aircraft that fills this roll is an overwhelming success, but the brass goes out of their way to get rid of it. OV-10, skyraider, warthog and this aircraft were praised by the troops and rightfully so.

the funny thing is that technology is so advanced, that even if russia obtained top secret info on stuff
like this, they dont have the capicity to copy the latest military secrets, their def industry, does not have the soph to recreate ie copy build the latest western military technology, so when all things said and done, its pointless to engage in mil espionage
