The problem with Xiaomi is as you correctly stated the missing ability to connect over usb to a monitor. Cast does work, but it's absolutely not useful with pc mode as it has significant delay. Thinking myself to move to Samsung for that reason. Sorry Xiaomi, not good enough yet...

The only docking station that works with Xiaomi is the USB dock by displaylink. I bought a travel dock and it works, got HDMI and mouse and keyboard working.

All android tablets should have "chrome mode" where you can use the tablet like a Chromebook. I love the Chromebook for client meetings (own a digital marketing agency) and have my powerful PC in my office.

One thing I do hate about Chromebook is the style, weight and lack of power.

We need something like "chrome mode" on the Samsung Tab 8 ultra for example 👍

Once you plugin in the HDMI cable from mobile tablet to TV the content should pop up without any adaptor or work around

Otherwise they be awesome, also shame that Asus has no proper desktop mode, just that botched experimental one integrated in stock Android 12, which works but really finicky.

Your phone does not use your router. It connects directly.

Where did you your keyboard and mouse

You can toggle full screen in RetroArch by holding Windows button and pressing up arrow on keyboard (works on DeX).

And also a good tip for better menu style go to Settings -> Drivers -> Menu -> ozone/xmb. To apply this setting you have to exit RetroArch by clicking on Main Menu -> Quit RetroArch (It saves configuration unlike you force quitting)

Sir i have poco m3 pro. And it have desktop mode feature i can't even understand how to use it after enabling it and i have also checked by setting dex device to tv. Without a tv how to use desktop mode in our mobile without any tv or monitor? (Keyboard and mouse support) like windows as shown in this video..

After miui 13 update they finally fixed it and now any apps can be in fullscreen
