Pre heating the glass is nonsese. Check the temperature before and after pouring. Very little change if any.

Did you ever try making coffee by cold extraction ??
Grinded beans and COLD water the night before (12-24h before drinking) - next day filter it and heat in the MW (or the other way around if it's a coffee pot piston (French coffee pot) - that makes a very mild coffee - to be savoured both warm and cold 🙂C'est servi !!
