God, if I was a kid today I'd be so bored by all of this stuff. I would avoid this bunch at all costs because I've never been into fads; I've always strove for individuality!😴

Social media is like anything, some people have luck on their side and win, whereas others don't and lose. You can be smart, talented and driven, but without luck, you'll never meet the right person, be in the right place at the right time, or have things fall into place. But if you have luck, you don't need to be smart, talented or driven and you'll meet the right person, be in the right place at the right time and have things fall into place regardless.

They say luck is when preparation meets opportunity, but I think luck is when the universe allows things to work out and doesn't actively stand in your way. Because without luck, you can be as prepared as you want, but opportunity will never present itself. And if you somehow manage to find an opportunity, the universe will make sure it somehow doesn't pan out.

Amazing to see the changes in Media over the years.
This was originally aired in 2014, the height of Facebook, Twitter, YoutTube, Vine (slowly fading) and Instagram becoming a thing...10 yrs prior in 2004

it was still TV, somewhat Radio and MySpace had just become a thing (remember clearly because I was 14-15 in 2004).....10 yrs prior

In 1994, it was just TV & Radio, and Magazines...10 yrs prior sure it was the same, but I wasn't alive in 1984.

But now Fast Forward 10 yrs to almost 2024, we now have/had;
Snapchat, ChatGPT and ofcourse TikTok.

Wonder what 2034 will be like 🤯

Unfortunately most of this generation can read, write or formulate intelligent conversations or interact one one one unless it is via social media. Has you seen the “How Dumb Are You Videos” where college students think a “quarter of an hour” is 25 minute while relating to currency and not time! WOW! That’s DUMB!😫🤪

It's so sad and pathetic. An entire generation has no idea what it means to be a kid. There in for a sad and tragic future when reality smacks them right in the face and they realize what a person on the other side of the world thinks about them means NOTHING.

When I was in high school we used to have a SLAM. It was a copybook in which we wrote questions to people on each page and classmates could answer choosing a number and writing their answers in every question. The best was when someone wanted to answer your slam and so you could discover his likes and dislikes, age, birthday, addres! 35 years ago we still were a like generation without instagram. BUT the Slam had 30 pages and a maximum of 25 people could have access to it. The owner of the slam could choose who would answer it and destroy it any time she wanted... wow. Today you are out there for the whole world to see and talk about and like you or hate you. Things change.

Interestingly, the word "like" in the current generation is to be found in every spoken sentence. If the speaker does not use it in one utterance, , s/he probably feels that something is wrong and will introduce it in the next one.

I guess in this generation fake is real and real is fake 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 and I'm sorry but that's asinine it's pathetic and it's a weak way to look at things it's like this generation don't want to face reality that's really pitiful very sad after so many people walking around that are ignorant they don't want to hear the truth and they don't want to face the truth they'd rather live in a world of Make-Believe and fake welcome to the world of social media 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 the pain that social media has caused me and a lot of other people out here that's a shame to that's a damn shame what goes around comes around

I hope people know that's social media is no damn good I've been on for I'm going to say maybe fourteen fifteen years now I got rid of Facebook over 2 years ago you know social media is used as a scamming line it's used as a sex line it's used for cheating lying and stealing your money social media wants you to get addicted the longer you stay on social media which is Facebook Instagram or any other social media site the more they get paid that's why they want people to stay online they want you to get addicted so they can get money and you know people are falling right into their trap they loved every minute of it they don't give a damn about people on here all they want and care about is getting you addicted so you stay online so they get their money if they cared at all about people on here they wouldn't let this things that go on still continue to go on they would do something about it they could give to schitt's about people committing suicide they could give to schitt's about whether people gets scammed on here and I was one of them they don't care if people hide behind other people's profiles they don't care if you get on there with no profile they don't care!!!!! Social media is the worst thing that could have ever invented no one realizes how much trouble and heartache social media causes people social media Facebook and Instagram worry so much about their LOL LOL LOL LOL standards what standards do they have 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 if you're going to worry about your standards then you also need to worry about your morals standards and morals go hand-in-hand and all they give a damn about as their standards as long as you don't say something cruel and threaten somebody like if you get mad and you see something on Instagram or Facebook like I did I would speak my peace and what they did they didn't like that they were threatened by me an Instagram still is cuz I don't have Facebook anymore so what they do is they restrict your account social media don't want to hear the truth and neither do the people on it it's a make-believe world it's false it's fake and people just seem to be enthralled by it they're going to pay a high price for it while Facebook and Instagram live high on the hog with other people's money they're making off of their customers they don't give a s*** what happens to anybody on here or they would have cleaned up their act along time ago social media has morals at all it's a free-for-all and they don't give a damn who gets hurt in the process

At great risk of the "Boomer" label, I am so glad I grew to adulthood before social media really took hold (I'm in my early 40s). I had such a tough time growing up but had a relatively quiet and safe home in which to grow. School was a living iteration of hell for me. I can't imagine how life would have been if that pressure and bullying followed me not only home, but everywhere I went. The internet is an ugly place. God help today's youth.

I was bullied really badly as a kid before social media, but the weirdest thing happened. In 8th grade, everyone went on Facebook but I never got the point so I stayed off and by 9th grade onwards, I was never, not once, ever bullied again.

It's almost as if you aren't even worth being a target of bullying if they can't bully you on social media anymore. I'd recommend to kids to stay off and let them target the kids who have profiles instead of you.
