So can I purchase one of these, set up the wifi hot spot on my phone and connect to my laptop and have decent speeds? What would you recommend in my situation. Glocalme USED to be a decent way to have wireless when the power went out, but NOW the prices are outrageous. They used to have a United States 12GB good for 365 days for around $80. NOW it's gone and the closest you can get is 12GB for 30 days at $80. That's HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! There is NO pay as you go left. You MUST buy a package and at minimum it's either a DAY or MONTH package period. Do NOT by Glocalme unless you can get a SIM card from your carrier for a decent $ for GB price.

A hotspot is just a 3g/4g/5g radio which decrypts a 4g or 5g signal and re-encrypts it into the 2.4GHz or 5.GHz wifi band. It's just the radio from your phone with a cheap encryptor and decryptor. Also when companies use Mbps they mean MBps (megabytes) because Mbp is mebibytes.

I was sold a Mobile Hotspot that the LEDs (other than the charging LED) do not function. In fact, the charging LED only flashes blue, never solid blue indicating a full charge. Also, I have to continually reset the device to make it work. Is this normal? I'm going to post this question on every social media and review site I can find in hope someone can answer my questions. Alcatel, who makes the device asked that I work with the vendor, in this case Keepgo.
