Sooooo glad my GH4 is Netflix approved. I paid $1000 for it. PS the grade on your self view cam, damn.. that is some beautiful, rich, deep, colour, and looks 0% digital. For real.

The colour and the grain look gorgeous here! The only thing needed to complete the 35mm release print-look would be to add gate weave and soften the image a bit. Here it still looks much sharper than projected film. I personally prefer the slightly softer, more soothing look of film, which along with the gate weave and the simmering grain, make the image look alive. Plus, film has those edge halos which soften the edges. In digital, the edges are too sharp and end abruptly.

Could anyone fill me in on what lens to pair with this camera to get this style of shooting? I’m a musician by trade lol.

Love your channel, just stumbled on it a few weeks ago...thanks algorithm! I got a komodo 2 years ago and I have not had any desire for another cinema camera since. You pretty much nailed it: global shutter and highlight rolloff are superb and unlike any other camera (BMPCC6K, Sony FX6) that I tried. There are better run-n-gun and lowlight cameras, but for the "RED look" I'll keep the Komodo til it dies.
