NYC's Parks are So Bad... Nobody Can Visit Them

I was taking a walk in prospect park once and needed to pee. The closet bathroom smelled of piss and toilet paper was everywhere. I had to hold it in until i walked back home bc it was just so gross 😭

Fear mongering at its worst. For exercise, I visit NYC parks most every week and walk 3-5 miles each time. I have never had a problem, nor have I seen any criminal activity. I won't say it never happens, but it's rare. Nobody can visit them? Ha! try going to Central Park on a weekend with nice weather. You'll see more visitors in an hour than most people see in a week in their hometown.

Why are the immigrants being given all theses freebies while the parks are going to hell. Every able bodied immigrant should be required to do community service to help earn their keep. But no , they put them up in luxury hotels and give them handouts, instead of utilizing an untapped labor pool.

I used to hang and jam at Washington Square Park by NYU
in the early 90's. Holy shit was that bathroom bad, open stalls broken sinks toilets the smell, men sitting on those open stall toilets staring at you.

I was in New York for a sunny week 2 years ago,I found numerous gorgeous clean parks bustling with tourists & city folk all enjoying the pretty parks. I thoroughly enjoyed them.

Ngl I went to Central Park this summer, my kid had to go in the bushes and there were rats running everywhere!! Never in my 40 years have I experienced that mess.

I was in NYC a few months ago this summer and i went to several parks

Central Park was beautiful and i really enjoyed walking around. It was clean (for a NYC park) and full of nice people

Union Square park was a nightmare. The entire park is inhabited by zonked out addicts. The front of the park near the subway was jammed up with stands for nasty looking cheap food and loud "music" that was just some drum beat on loop. Actual hellhole, nobody would want to take their family here
