Hope someone can help me. Just bought a 2017 62kw startline t6. Noticed there is no glow plug light. Starts perfect. Intrument cluster is the basic just a rwv counter and speedo.

Volkswagen have lost the plot. There transporter still uses the same 20 year old chassis and is slowly becoming a mum bus for school drop offs. Look at the new Ford custom, they are absolutely pushing innovation and practicality.

Over priced , uncomfortable seating , noisy, bad on mpg the front looks like it’s crashed through Halfords .. the vito crew sport is a rolls Royce drive and comfort compared to VW

Will probably get a new VW T6.1 and put my own bed and draw storage system underneath..ie a basic panel van with camping in mind..much cheaper ..just over half the price of this..too much comfort in vans today..the basics will do for me so long as it’s reliable …

Like to see a petrol hybrid in this VW transporter....

Where’s the god dam sunglasses holder gone? Where’s the footrest gone and why have the blocked off the storage above your head? Regressed in certain areas….I’ve still ordered one though😆

I need an VIN for that Sportline Edition or the Parts Number for that Front Bumper. In Germany we aren´t able to order the Sportline Edition. The original Frontbumper looks like sh*t but my local VW Dealer, here in Germany, can´t figure out how to get it. So if someone here in the comment section is willing to help me, i would be very happy.

If we manage to pull some of these Bumpers to Germany i´m willing to pay you via Paypal etc!

Prima Typ der Edd China, toller KFZ Sachverständiger und super Monteur. Vermisse Ihn in der Autosendung im TV "Wheeler Dealer "oder wie es im deutschen heißt die "Gebrauchtwagen Profis "mit Mike Brewer. Habe es aber immer nur wegen dem Edd geguckt.Der hat richtig ahnung, und ist auch VW-Spezialist,verdammt guter Mann.

It's a good job they gave the 10ft plus Ed a Konbi rather than std van with bulkhead...

And the fly wheel issues!....Looks nice though

Don't forget to factor in an EGR valve and half a DCT every 50,000, a litre of oil every 1000 miles (post 60,000mls) & dental insurance due to the ride!

THE PRICE is £47 thousand for a long wheel base . So as a vw fan having a golf for over 30 years Buy a SPRINTER VAN better value

VW need to get real and go back to the Specials they offered in the late 1990s -2000 era, £20K for at 2L TDI but £49K !
It £2-4K of trim up grades! I have owned 2 the best day of owning the day you buy and the day you sell too,
3 engine replacements, fuel gauges sticking at 1/2 tank , countlesss times it stop with a 1/2 gauge full! when it was empty,
throttle cables failures leave you crawling along motor ways.
And rusting to pieces after 8 years.
They drive lovely , security was good, engines are hit and miss, but not worth anymore than £400mth, there is better out there.

I'll stick with my 2005 t90 350 ford transit,its not the fastest but never let's me down and goes forever

I'm calling b*ll*cks, Edd. The wheel arch is so far in the drivers cabin it's impossible to find a comfortable position if you are somewhat taller, not to mention someone of your frame. I really wanted a VW, but am unable to fit comfortably, Even my better half, just under 6 ft., 1.8m, complains about the obnoxious obstruction (c) in the passenger seat. I went V, a lot more comfortable for the slightly taller human.

It's a shame on VW that, at such a high price, the van doesn't include a hair comb.

edd, great review sir, however i cant help but feel this offering from vw is out of step with the market, i.e. ev's. the id range, id buzz. this may be more what trades people are looking for, without the crazy price tag of the transporter.

Price not mentioned at all! No comparison with any alternative new vans! So what did we learn - nothing whatsoever, except the tail opens up the way, duh!

I've never drive such a uncomfortable van in my life, my back was in bits after 40mins of driving, never again. Transit all the way now and yes its way over priced.

I ordered one of these in a 4 motion in Dec 2020. VW then cancelled my order until March 2023 because they couldn’t cope with orders. I went an ordered a Ford Transit Custom MS-RT coming in two months. Same spec.

VW keep 'saying' they are switching to EV's, but from where I sit, their EV's are always available 'next' year!!!... and while they dangle this carrot, they try and sell us old fashioned DIESEL engines 🤬
I own a 2006 VW Transporter 2.5 diesel. Its at end of life for me. I'll be replacing it with an Electric van in 2022.... But NOT one of these 👎
Maxus are excellent value for the money. There's even talk of a Tesla van! I can't wait to try these out. But certainly NO VW Diesel in 2022...

Ed is a massive VW fan and what ever shortcomings VW have ( and their are many!) These won't be reported here

Too many reliability issues with Volkswagen and customer service isn't great either. Many customers still awaiting compensation regarding diesel gate shenanigans. Also these VW vans are way over priced

Looks like VW are trying to get rid of all their Diesel engines...

You forgot to talk about the most important aspect of this van that'll make it a no go for most. The price! £££
