Does the XLR adapter record the sound from the NTG1 directly onto the clip? Or do you have to sync in post?
ОтветитьGreat comparison, thank you. I went with the Lavalier for outdoor recording. Cheers.
ОтветитьGood job...Just a head's up, I was taught in film school and saw over and over in Hollywood: a shotgun mic isn't designed to be used that close. You can and should set it up across from you-at least ten feet away. The position you're using that mic is is for a Boom, not a shotgun
ОтветитьThanks . Often comparisons are spec based. As someone starting without much technical knowledge this is a useful video
ОтветитьThanks for this video! It was exactly the information I was looking for.
ОтветитьThanks foe the video! It was exactly the info I needed!!
ОтветитьShotgun sounds much better, but lav is cheaper and easier to work with.
Ответитьthank you! may I know what brand of the shotgun mic stand?
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you so much.
ОтветитьVery good content! I started my channel not too long ago and I've been using a cheap lavalier mic and have been thinking about an upgrade - you've talked me into getting a better lavalier mic. There's a LOT of ambient noise in my house! I got the dog barking, I have dishes being done, people watching TV, etc. The lavalier does do a great job of ignoring most of that. Thanks again - great video.
ОтветитьTy!
ОтветитьGreat video, this video helped clarify my purchase. Thanks. Wishing your channel much success.
ОтветитьHey! Are you that guy intheblues?
ОтветитьI think I better go for the wireless lavalier mic. Yesterday I thought the new Sony shotgun is great, but for fitnessvideos and on events maybe the lavalier is the better solution
ОтветитьBoth mics seemed to pickup the air sound the same amount, but the shotgun mic seemed to record a slightly higher frequency? That's all I could hear differently! Great video, thank you!
Ответитьright on spot of what I was looking for...great vid! I love the idea of having a shotgun instead of setting the lavalier every time I record something, but I cannot afford losing footage because of the ambient sound. thank you!
ОтветитьVery helpful, thanks! Would you use the Rode lavalier if you're out and about?
ОтветитьThanks bud
ОтветитьHi bro, what if I am shooting for fitness videos. Movement involved, however with shirtless (challenge of sticking the lavalier near my mouth). What do you think?
Thank you very much in advance 🙌
Shotgun sounds better imo.
ОтветитьThe lavalier sounds so muffled compared to the shotgun.
ОтветитьI like the sound of shotgun mic, but I want freedom to move and not always look towards the mic, so I guess, I'm going to buy Lavalier
ОтветитьWhich one do you like the best? You can comment below or vote in the cards! Both are good in different scenarios.
ОтветитьI like the shotgun mics
ОтветитьThank you. This is very informative.
ОтветитьI am in the market for a lav mic,but will it make me sound like Steve from Boston? Lol. I preferred the sound of the overhead.
ОтветитьCan’t find how to vote by poll. Prefer lavalier — better bass, less background noise.
