EVE-NG is a great alternative and it is free, if you use the community edition.

Rich hoping maybe you can point me in the right direction..... But downloaded CML 2.5.0 and successfully installed software and launched Dashboard. Then I was able to register software and all seems to be in order except.... System Health Issue Images has a big red X on it... Is that something you load via cml-controller or dashboard... Currently running on Fusion Player.. Thanks Andrew

CML has come a looong way..! The first time I ran into this Cisco product, was called VIRL; the expectation was way too high, that product didn't deliver what I was looking for at the time.
Found GNS3 that was easier to deploy and use. Nowadays, my go-to tool to test and lab is EVE-NG. Good video!!

Hey thanks for sharing Rich. Yes when I saw your name I thought you were rich too : ). This was good info. I had bought cml a few years ago but never really used it much. I have my ccent and work in a large environment mostly with switches and voice. Im not sure if I will get another Cisco cert or go for cloud but I was thinking of getting this again to go through some switching and routing basics and maybe cisco ise if possible. I will check out more of your videos.
