I have the spectrum router/modem combo and the spectrum technician attached it to the wall above the door in my master closet when I moved in. Now they are sending me the new equipment like you have in this video. Where would you suggest I put it? I wouldn’t even know how to fasten both pieces to wall like the technician did.

ОтветитьYou will always run into problems if you try hooking up both the modem & router at the same time.
The correct way is to hook up the modem first, plug everything in then use your mobile phone and use "My Spectrum App" to activate the modem... then after you get that working, hook up the Router and use your phone & app to activate the router.
If you try hooking up both at the same time, you will get problems activating nearly 99% of the time, so always do the modem first then the router.

ОтветитьThe only cord i have that comes from outside is fiber cord there is no coax cord. And spectrum says it had to be connected to coax. I wonder if there is space in modem for a fiber cord?

They did not give us all of this paperwork that you had but I was able to screenshot the telephone number that you showed on your video and get it all activated thank you so much.❤

ОтветитьAvoid Spectrum! You will get nothing but misery. There will be constant daily outages. They are smart to keep the outages to no more than 2 hours daily so that they will not have to refund any of the good money you paid them. But you will have daily outages. I do not recommend.
ОтветитьThe "activation" they want you to do through the app is nonsense and is absolutely unnecessary in setting it up.
ОтветитьI have Spectrum and I'm currently using the Motorola Surfboard modem that was installed 10 years ago. There is no special wiring outside my house. The cable comes down from a power pole to an eave and then down and in thru the wall. If I order this new self install kit, do you know if I can just swap them out and activate the new modem as you describe in the video.

ОтветитьI tried calling and the system couldn't activate but they gave me the option to send me a text message with a link to activate. I followed the link (which is confusing) and after being frustrated I selected chat. They are going to try for you to do a troubleshooting but when they ask "Did this work?" answer no to all of them. Finally the system put me with a real person and the activation was a success. HAVE ON HAND THE CM MAC ADRESS FOR THE MODEM AND THE MAC ADDRESS FOR THE ROUTER. They are located under the units.😎

ОтветитьI just got T mobile (had it for 1 day) wifi, ugh...keeps reconnecting/repowering itself on. I lose connection. So im going back to Spectrum (still have equipment) just didnt know how to reconnect. Thanks for the video.

ОтветитьAll my problems here in Idaho with Spectrum has to do with a system that is over 50 years old. Having my residential service line replaced solved ALL my problems with dropped signal. However, every time it rains my band width drops from 250mbs to less than 10mbs. Every time a tech comes out, they want to blame problems on my in house wifi. They don't know that I have brand new equipment, modem, nest router, laptop. My ethernet connection bandwidth is within 10% of my wifi. I'm convinced technicians don't like climbing ladders. Someone needs to make a video on how to successfully make Spectrum address THEIR system deficiencies.

ОтветитьSo I’m curious because when I set mine up, it is saying connection issue after the 20min clock expires on the app and I don’t want a technician to come to or inside my home. I also got a coax tool to check the signal so I checked the coax cable coming directly from the breaker box and it said there was signal so I plugged everything in there in the garage and still same issue. Any suggestions?
