it's so funny that people don't get that EVERY dance teacher is like Abby Lee. This show is great because it finally exposes what literally every young child that went through a dance studio had to put up with. Abby lee is NOT a unique case- she absolutely is the pattern

She’s a year older than me and I always gave her the benefit of the doubt as just an annoying kid or just someone doing something to make money and doing what she loves, then when she came out and started transitioning into more adult content I actually started following her but she just fell so fast 😭😭

Actually Abby didn’t know someone on the production team, we have Christi to thank for Dance Moms! Abby used to have a bulletin board with different gigs/opportunities on them and a production team for LifeTime was looking to the documentary like you said. Christi took the opportunity and recorded a few clips of her introducing herself and Chloe dancing on a flip camera. Later she even ended up filming Abby’s audition/interview 😭but yeah not many people know that! But I got most of this Info from Christi and Kelly’s podcast, Back to the Barre! Highly recommend especially the first chunk of episodes cause there’s some good BTS stories they share

Watching dance moms was like watching a documentary of my childhood. I grew up in the dance world/culture. I did a lot of the same competitions the abby lee dancers competed it. And I can tell you that this show was ACCURATE

Chloe wasn’t dancing for Abby when she got that nosebleed, and Payton was messing around backstage when she hurt her foot. There are many things that are problematic with Abby. . .you don’t have to make them up.

The real reason they cancelled her show was poor ratings.

Abby is a nasty angry bitter ole woman. It would be nice to see her grow up, like all the young ladies have managed to do that were on Dance Mom's. Sounds like she let the fame and fortune go to her head and went off on it. I hope she finds some peace in her life and figures it out.
