ОтветитьI want to enter recovery mode because I forgot the password, but can't enter grub and can't edit the file because I don't have sudo permission :)
ОтветитьLiterally, I tried tens of ways even from the official documentation. Reinstalled grub 3 times but didn't try this silly change and every time the computer jumped to bios instead of grub. Thanks a lot, you saved my dual boot. 😀❤
ОтветитьHey did exactly what you did inthe video but the grub is still now showing up on boot. I'm using windows 11. It automatically opening the system with windows without giving an option to choose between Ubuntu and windows 11
ОтветитьDude thanks! I went back to Windows from Ubuntu because some games won't run from steam!

ОтветитьI just installed Zorin OS and faced this same exact issue. Never used Zorin before and have been using Debian, Ubuntu, and Arch for the last decade or so. Oddly I've never actually encountered this issue before and figured that every distro had a grub menu. Lo and behold, Zorin's grub was hidden and, thanks to you, I was able to recover it using your advice and tutorial. Thank you. You definitely rock and just received another sub.
ОтветитьIt works thanks Man
ОтветитьMine already had these exact settings. Bought a new mobo and grub doesn't show up no matter what I try.
ОтветитьIs it works in fedora 35 ?,dual boot with uefi windows boot manager not showing in grub and also it directly goes to fedora...
ОтветитьFor some guys who dint work this
Follow this steps
1] sudo nano /etc/default/grub
GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
to
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
to
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
to
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu
This will solve you'll issues
Thanks
Thanks. Im newbie at installing linux and want to dual boot on mbr disk drive... You saved me. 👍❤️
ОтветитьEpic guide! But, what if the grub file at /etc/default does not exist?
ОтветитьIf the grub screen is still be skipped you should set the "GRUB_TIMEOUT" to anything higher than 0
Example:"GRUB_TIMEOUT=30"
i did this and forgot to update grub XD
thanks for helping out a newbie :)
Worked! Tried another methods, but that was the only one that worked, nice, easy, simple and directly to the point! thx

ОтветитьGrub menu finally showed bu no windows boot option 😢
ОтветитьHi Herbert
ОтветитьHey guys, I tried what was in the video but it didn't solve my problem. After researching a bit more deeply, I noticed that my TIMEOUT, which is an option located right next to the one in the video, was set to 0. All I had to do was change the time to 10 ( can be any time in seconds). Maybe this is your problem too.
ОтветитьBruh
Not working
Awesome 🙌
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThank you very much
ОтветитьI get /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: failed to get canonical path of `/cow'. While trying to update grub
ОтветитьAlso you may have timeout to 0 you can put it to -1 to have no time out
Ответить2024, this totorial has helped me recover my windows 11 Thank you mahn
ОтветитьIts worked thank to you for make this video
ОтветитьIf your time is 0 the update it to 10.
You should also tell as this is also the problem on some systems anyways a big thanks for solving the problem ☺️
Dude, omg thanks so much
ОтветитьHow tf i am supposed to run these lunix commands if I cant even boot into lunix since its always booting to windows
