almost 2 million eh?
ОтветитьStick, in my foot, I had a sidewall split on a tire. It was a car but it was a tire. It took 4 rope plugs to plug it.
Put another 60000 miles on that tire before. It got treads got so thin I had to replace it anyway.
So which one will kill/murder you? Also, I’m seeing these screw type plugs. They look like fat screws that you screw in with a screwdriver and come in different sizes. Those any good?
Ответитьi ran a rope plug in my tire for 7 years now (ik, i need new tires) and never had problems. its permanent
ОтветитьIt seems the only time i ever get a flat is when I am an hour or more from civilization. I have rope plug kits and a mini air compressor stored on all my bikes.15 minutes later I am back on the road and not an appetizer for the local wildlife.
ОтветитьRope plugs will last forever. So will dealerships (auto or motorbike) trying to convince you that they are temporary and sell you new tires.
ОтветитьThanks 🙏
ОтветитьSooooo
Which one will kill you?
I've been using the plug method since the 60s on thousands of tires.
You are a pansy and have. O idea what your talking about.
Fool.
Not a single failure.
too much unnecessarily talk, just show and test the plugs without all the cuts and try to be funny (which you are not)
ОтветитьGreat video but I have used the mushroom bungs for year's with no problems and easy to use
ОтветитьROPE PLUGS ADVICE - They work extremely well, providing you use the Slime Branded ones (the "slime" green colored box). They are also very convenient because you do not have to use rubber cement with them.
I've had vehicles in the past with multiple plugs in each tire. I have never had one fail ever! They are definitely a viable permanent solution.
Now I have tried the generic no name branded ones and sometimes they work... 50/50 I had purchased some cheap brand at the auto parts store and when trying to insert the plug into the tire, the tool itself broke off of the handle and nearly punctured straight through my hand!
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST SPEND A COUPLE EXTRA DOLLARS AND BUY THE SLIME BRANDED ONES! COMES AS A KIT WITH THE REAMER, INSERTION TOOL, AND A CASE. THE ALSO SELL REPLACEMENT PLUGS TO REPLENISH THE KIT...
I used this rope plug that lasted FOREVER like five years
I remember it was the extra thick model
I kept waiting for a slow leak but it never came
Used lots of rope plugs, never an issue.
ОтветитьI been using rope plugs for 40 years, they are fantastic when installed properly
ОтветитьFunny 🤣
ОтветитьI can't believe anyone follows you.
ОтветитьI, thank you.
Did you use vulcanizing fluid during the installations or is it a dry installation ?
What kind of repair a garagiste will do ? Is it the same ?
That camera man.
His roots ?
Sri Lanka
India?
Someehwere else?
Bike Seal tire sealent is better than all of these. Ive pulled out 1/4 inch nails and screws from my back tire with zero psi loss in pressure
ОтветитьIf your normal plug wears , leaks, or if the hole is just too big, upgrade to a mushroom plug? 🤨
ОтветитьI believe the patch is meant for tubes, the rubber string part isn’t necessarily thick enough to hold permanently
ОтветитьHow is the tyre going flat from a failed plug any worse the getting the flat to begin with? I put a pound or two of Flatout in my tyres. It balances them, and no flats. The tyre will come off the rim at change time like spitting a watermelon seed. It is a bit messy at change time though. This stuff doesn't freeze in cold weather either.
ОтветитьSo which gov official had a stake in the industry to make only patches the approved fix?
ОтветитьSame here. Thanks for the info. Subscribed. Like common sense
ОтветитьYou forgot mucoff tubles sealant 😅 yes its ment for mountainbikes but in a pinch.......oh and iby in a pinch i mean i did it myself and did 1200 miles on it 😅, guy at the shop was pissed he had it everywhere while doing new tyres for me but it works ...... Just take out the valve and squeeze it in out of the pouch 😁
ОтветитьWould have been really helpful to have context about the forces exerted on the tire while driving. Like if you hit a pothole on the highway, how much force is exerted on that one part of the tire? It seems strange to me to dismiss the repair method that can withstand 3X+ the force when we don't know what is overkill and what is erring on the side of safety (e.g. driving around little kids).
Also I don't care for the "accidental" footage, it feels overproduced.
Recently saw these rubber coated screws advertised. As a quick fix they look good, especially in the dark. I might use them to get me home and then swap it out for a rope the next day. Interested to know what others think of these rubber coated screw plugs. Fwiw, I once used a bit of wood to fix a puncture on a tubed MC tire. It actually worked. I had to re pump the tire a couple of times, by I recon it using it allowed the inner to slip against the outer and the tire then held pressure for a couple of thousand miles till I was able to change the inner tube
ОтветитьI know a guy... 3 plugs in 1 tire... no issues.
A car tire that is.
I was gifted a mushroom plug kit 20+ years ago. I learned quickly that they are NOT a great idea for street motorcycles or on a tread block! I have had success with them for large punctures that fall between tread blocks. I do strip the factory lube off them 1st and use rubber cement all over the shroom & as the needle lube. All my vehicles have “rope plug” kits in them though!😁
ОтветитьNot a fan of mushroom plugs, but they arent more expensive.
The issue I've always had with mushroom plugs is that you really need to be somewhere with air to do them and if you're going to do all that, just use the plugpatch and be done with it.
I use the rope plugs and have for years. The only time I've ever had them leak is if the tire is split and the act of cramming them in just makes it split more. But I use them on mowers and cars/trucks and they work just fine.
What an awful video. Delivery style was terrible and unfunny. Also, the Mr. Beast comment was mega cringe.
ОтветитьYou were looking for it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of an needle than a man to enter the kingdom of God , your young and in these days I wouldn't joke . Godbless you in Jesus name
Ответитьstupid - non humour stopped watching after 30 seconds
ОтветитьYou forgot one type of plug That I found works as good as or better than rope plugs on nail & screw holes. . the vulcanizing rubberized screw plug. as it screws into the hole the vulcanizing rubber on the outside seals it. since it screws into the tire hole, it's secure & it doesn't push out with pressure.
ОтветитьHow much air have you lost before you realise you have a puncture. A tyre inflator is part of the repair system you need to be carrying, any kind of repair is potentially useless without spare air.
ОтветитьNever ever watch this type of clic bait.
Never saw this guy stoop this low.
I DID NOT KNOW TIRE REPAIR COULD POSSIBLY BE SO ENTERTAINING
ОтветитьSo I have the mushroom type in my tool kit. I have repaired many tyres with this system to complete effect. I even used it on my mates 911 which got a rear puncture within the first 100 miles on new tyres. The plug held up well, in fact up until the tyre needed replacing. As to the push test, it really isn't a measure of how good the repair holds as the mushroom is always pushing outwards with centrifugal force, that said, it was an interesting test.
Ответитьrope 100%
Ответить20 years of plugging my super sport motorcycle tire with the gummy rope ( i think it is the slime brand )and not a leak yet. Being a super sport I've had that bike up to 100 plus miles an hour and not a single concern about the plug
ОтветитьRope plugs aka sticky worms aka snot sticks are fantastic and only temporary……depending on your definition of temporary.
ОтветитьIt’s funny but 30 minutes ago I plugged my golf cart with the rope plug, with the tire still on the wheel. I have the timer on for 1 hour and then I will go check the pressure, see if it’s still 36 psi. The rope plug was delivered in 1 day by Amazon. Those Chinese companies ship things fast. I get lots of stuff from China from Amazon in 1 day. Amazing network of shippers.
ОтветитьEhhhhhhh......
ОтветитьDon't plugs blow out from flexing and resulting loss of adhesion and not in from small diameter probes centered perfectly on the plug?
ОтветитьThe heavy duty truck tire plug kits made by black jack use the rope style. Dont double up the plug, pull it into the tool just a little ways, push it in then pull the tool out leaving you with the rope plug only single layer. Doubled they will leak.
Ответить-- Funny and correct.
ОтветитьI have used Dyna plugs for years. Pretty permanent and very easy-to-use and easy to carry. Best feature is that it doesn't change the tire balance at all.
ОтветитьThere's a company that sells mushroom plugs with a tapered stem, you should do a push test on that type of plug to see if it resists pushing through more than the straight stemmed mushroom plug.
ОтветитьGot to work and found a screw on my tire, I figure Fortnine has a good video on how to fix it, and a good recommendation. Thanks Ryan
