How does Botania even work? - The Complete Guide

new subscriber, love the vids. I am dipping into Botania now and was watching this vid, but throwing the seeds in to get a pure daisy does not work. it just sits on top of the pedestal withot anything happening and then jumps back into inventory when getting close enough. Has anyone else had this problem?

Kinda sad but understandable that all the trinkets have been taken out of the Vault Hunters pack. Good video tho.

Im pretty sure the entropy/bomb flowers are op if your playing on 1.13 and above because of tnt duping (unless they patched tnt duping out by hand)

honestly the water one seems like it would be the easiest to automate since 2 water source blocks placed right will generate more water source blocks. So that one honestly feelsl like the real GOAT here, at least if you plan to do a lot of things and want stuff to happen on its own so you can go and progress in a different mod after doing botania. (this is what I am doing lmao.)

At last!!!!! A tutorial that explains mana generation for noobs like me. Other channels seem to assume noobs know the basics but this channel assumes you know nothing... thank you so much, I have learned so much from this.

As always this is the best guide for botania. I had issues understanding many of them. Sometimes they had like 20 episodes... and nothing really useful told. This is very easy to understand, find all things that are needed. I built my elven portal and feed flowers with TNT - double or turn items from one to another. Thank you!

Do you have one for this mod in the most recent releases for vault hunters? My sister's reintroduced me to Minecraft with vault hunters, and admittedly I think botania is going to be one of my early unlocks once I run a few vaults because it's goooooorgeous, but she says they've removed some parts of the mod? Being a newbie, I have no idea what's been removed or how it affects the game 😭

if you put a hydroangea next to an infinite water source, it generates infinite mana at no cost.

in all mods 8 this mod seems kinda eh, just spent to long trying to learn it to discover better things exist.

@hellfirem4ge how accurate is this guide for 3rd edition. I've never played any other versions of vault hunter. I'm very interested in this mod just to try something different, I guess. Everyone seems to run create there are tons of vids on create. But I'm struggling to find much info botania

Thanks so much for this! I was nervous about getting into Botania but this guide has made it so easy and I'm having so much fun with my cool new gadgets and working towards a terrashatterer.

Awesome run through. I’d be really interested to see what some higher tier mana generation and storage setups look like, especially when it comes to distributing mana to different locations/farms etc.

I'm new to modded minecraft.. it would be cool if you could do this for other mods in the VH pack... like Refined Storage, Mechanism, RF, create, and whatever else people usually have issues with

Can you do a video about traversing the vault for newbies? How modifiers May change your strategy, what rooms to skip because they aren’t worth the time, show the photos of how the vaults are setup based on level, etc. And then for the rooms worth looking maybe videos containing like 3 or so rooms per video on where all the secrets etc. are. This is info I’ve been searching for. Luckily the discord for VH is super welcoming and very helpful! Also, info about catalysts and how to build crystals that are best for certain objectives like soul shard farming, looting etc. And the different types crystals like cake vaults etc. Your guides are very thorough and have helped me a lot!

This is really helpful as I’m just about to unlock botania. I’d love more guides like this for things like engineering and storage solutions etc

You forgot the dandelifion (the game of life) flower.. which creates a game with the cellular blocks that go towards the flower once placed.. the more combinations the cellular blocks create before reaching the flower the more mana it creates

You have no idea how helpful this was. I never saw the use of getting the botania research in my playthrough because i just thought it was very confusing. You explained it perfectly.

Does the Sojourner's sash only work inside the vault? I've equipped it and I don't have a jump boost or step up ability. Would kinda suck if it only works on the vaukt

Absolutely epic guide! Wish I’d had this a month ago 🫠 As mentioned above, the mirror does work in the vault and other dimensions as long as the pool it’s linked to is chunk loaded. That being said, I’m using a vanilla chunk loader & it glitched out causing my SS tetra shattered to break (yes it breaks!) So a few things to be aware of when you get this far into botania. Once again, thank you for such a clear and informative guide Hellfire 🐣

Just unlocked botania myself last night, and ive managed to fumble my way through to getting terrasteel, but theres still a lot to learn from what i can see here

Very good guide. All I have to add is when using the runic alter bind a mana spreader to the alter that is placed beside a mana pool. The spreader will pull from the pool to feed the alter. And will feeding much faster then trying to generate new mana.

You should check out dimstorage next. It's probably the most underrated mod in the game. You can easily set up item transportation between your farms and your main storage. But if you are clever you can set up a system that pulls all the important loot you get while vaulting into your main storage. This happens while your in the vault effectively protecting all your loot from death. You can also send all your gear back to the overworld if your in a locked that can't be completed. I'm hesitant to write this as I don't want it to get patched but I also don't want to hoard the knowledge.

yup good guide :PP, just gonna add this : if u wanna get some of the rarer ores in VH , the orechid needs a LOT of mana but can generate ores from stone, could b vanilla ores or stuff like rubies (which r useless but cool in VH), this guide covers most everything theres to know about Botania in VH (theres also a way to get infinite free mana with a setup in VH but i wont spoil lul), nice vid, good job !
