Hello, in my case laser is moving up and down but disc does not rotate i check motors externally and they are working fine. What could be the problem.I appreciate your reply.
ОтветитьHi, I want to ask you about my cd player
ОтветитьAwesome thank you for doing this video, nice and clear and easy to understand.👍
ОтветитьThe deeper cause of the problem lying in the capacitor in the power rail that going to the laser pick up. It losing value thus losing the available power it can supply, that is why you can get it worked again by increasing the power to compensate it (reduce resistance by turning the Pot anti-clockwise).
When the cap lost more value than the range of the Auto power Pot can compensate then it will not work, and it will because the capacitor is dying anyway.
Trace the ribbon cable back to the mainboard and find any capacitor next to the connector, replace it...most of the time it will work without touching any adjustable potiometers on the laser assembly, which may be a dangerous thing.
Does this pickup contains solder joints?
ОтветитьGood video! Thanks! I have some minidisc players with no working the pickup, im already try all but never works, the laser are ok, im already adjusting to ideal gain etc but nothing, the pickup trying to read the disc several time but cant read, i thik the problem is about some alignment but how i can put the right alignment in that lens?
Ответитьhello, in my case, the lens goes up and moves but the disk does not rotate, I don't know if it's the motors or I also have to adjust a screw, I would appreciate the help
ОтветитьGreat video!
Just can you tell me the width of the ribbon connector (the one who's going, by left side, outside the optical drive).
I think by "width" the number of traces.
There is lot of mechanism with KSS-240A and they have different control PCB (with smaller or larger ribbon).
It's for fixing a SEGA mega CD.
thank!
How to lubricate the CD drawer and the laser carriage? What kind of lubricant? Thank you.
ОтветитьHow check laser power V? Multimeter? I have Kenwood DP-5060 with KSS240A.
ОтветитьThanks! Even if told that no adjustement should be done without proper readings, i turned just a little bit (5 degrees?...counterclockwise) one of the screws i a 90's cd player and is working perfectly. Hope it lasts and don't get fried. Removing stuff to get the readings in my case was a hell of a hassle so i took my chances. Thank you very much for this video!
ОтветитьHello
Thank you for the great and clear explanation.
I did exactly what you showed in de video.
However I still have one problem now, the cd still skips half way there song.
Do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
So of the 3 trimpots, the regulation must be the one on the right, ok?
ОтветитьGreat video thank you !
Optic module replacement is only needed for no error disc ? Because I bought a CD player which is crackling.
Do you have any recommandation for an oscilloscope ?
Thanks mate laser alignment did work! 🙂
ОтветитьThere is a way to check the láser ?
ОтветитьThx for this. This was the first place I could find which told me which of the three pots adjusted the laser power. Roman
ОтветитьHey man! I have an old Akai sampler with this mechanizm (Akai CD3000 non xl). Unfortunately i moved all the knobs on the lens module. I have an osciloscope but i don't know where to plug it to calibrate the lens. Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
Awesome help, all my CD player would do was skip without reading the cd
A small turn and now it’s working fine.thanks for the help
Hi,
I have the same CD player model, and it suffer from CD tray drawer wen closed, the laser mechanism don't move up...
Plz could desassamble your CD drawer and explain how the mechanism should work properly so I can compare if the issue is because of belt or the wheel?
greetings friend, to avoid the jumps in the song (the cds are original and are not very used) which of the three screws should I adjust? I already cleaned the optical lens but there are three screws I don't know which one to move. I hope you can help me thank you very much
ОтветитьTurn right or left clockwise?
Ответить
