Thanks for the useful tips. Question: do I have to maintain a cellphone plan with the old phone?

I've used an old phone as a dash cam with aldred cam for over a year now. The on phone recording and online play back features are great. My car has a wifi hotspot that is on 24/7 so it connects to that. It also connects to the house wifi when im home. One word of caution is to make sure your phone has passthrough charging, other wise your battery may bulge or degrade faster due to the constant charging and heat.
