Great video, but how annoying would it be to be seated next to someone who had their flash on for recording videos during this very long flight😮

A380 was built for passengers, B787 was built for airlines. And Qantas will go the next step by cramming in as many passengers as possible, especially in economy. Don't fall for the media release or the glossy photo shoots. Other airlines are doing a better job, offering better service at a lower price.

Done London to Perth and Perth to London many times! One thing you learn on long haul is never drink alcohol if you don't want Jetlag! Drink water only with the odd tea or coffee and there is zero jetlag, I was horrified when I see you had jeans on with a big belt!
Trackpants or shorts Tshirt and sweatshirt plus slip on shoes so you dont get piss on your socks from the WC at night! lol

I remember flying to Sydney on the Dreamliner (stop off in Singapore - 14 hours + 7 hours. What a killer)

Coming back we couldn’t land in Heathrow due to fog and didn’t have the fuel to circle, so off we went to BIRMINGHAM, waited an hour and then flew back.

I still have the flashbacks .. 😩

Really enjoyed this and two of my favourite pastimes when flying are the meals, snacks and drinks plus the amazing views. It is always magical and if the windows were blacked out beyond my control I would want half the air fare back. 😂

Not on,y are they getting you to do it for them, but the fare isn’t reduced. In years to come, they’ll be getting passengers to fly the plane and serve their own drinks!

I go to Brisbane most years to visit son and his family. After treating myself once to Business Class with Emirates on the A380, I just couldn’t go back to Economy. Business is the difference between enduring the journey and quite enjoying it, especially as Emirates pick you up from your house and when in Australia they take you to your final destination, and vice versa. Worth saving up for if at all possible.

Tom tams are amazing, the trick is to bite off 2 corners diagonal to each other, cup of tea, dip one corner in tea, such the tea through the biscuit and before it melts quickly 'slam' it in your mouth...Tim tam slam, it's for this reason they are not as dense as a penguin but you have to try 😊

Some really good info there for us, thankyou. We were wondering about going Economy plus to try & make it a little cheaper than business class. We flew Singapore Airlines business to Singapore & had a stopover then onto Melbourne, drive up to Crocodile country then over to NZ for a few weeks. Holiday of a lifetime but looking at economy I don’t know if I could do 11 hrs never mind 16 hrs in there. 😱 Empty seat next to you was a BIg bonus!

Could you upgrade to Economy Plus or whatever Queensland & Northern Territory Air Service call it for the journey home and you would help us decide. Unless that is if you’re not coming back business anyway !

Look forward to your next installments.

P.S.
don’t bother with the HUGE BANANA 🦐s the normal ones are a bit cheaper and more tasty 🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐

Boeing is in a world of hurt. Released planes off the assembly line without quality control checks to make sure four bolts were properly installed on a door. Who is the poor slob whose job it was to install said bolts. Crazy times we live in.

Fair play flying 17 hours in economy. If I was fortunate enough to see Australia, Id have to save the money to fly in buisness, so can lay flat and sleep.

I've done Dallas to Brisbane for 14 hours. 17 hours is massive. The West looks dry and yellow, such a contrast to the East Coast of Australia that is going through a wet, humid summer. That Hotel credit card holding fee for mini bar and incidentals is a shocker with the hold not releasing until you check out. Terrible but it goes on.

I'd rather do the BA A380 on BAW 11/12 to Singapore and then have a break. I also would find those windows super annoying. And only two meals for a 17 hour flight? Brrr. No thanks! A380 is also a much nicer plane to fly than the 787 which just feels like an updated 737 to me...

Hello McM, great videos. Quick question if you have time. I have to go to LA soon from the UK so that would also be a very long flight from Manchester like the one you're on in this video. Would you reccomend breaking the journey up, perhaps flying to New York first and then onto LA. Tbh I don't like flying but need to go on business. And do you reccomend any carriers as a frequent flyer please? I fancy qantas but I don't think they go from UK to la.

Thanks for mentioning the wooden cutlery. Off on a trip to the US soon and I hate the wooden stuff. Will get some reusable ones to take. 👍
Also windows- I’d hate to not be able to operate them but feel it is fair they have set times to allow people to rest. Its good you can’t control that either, because you know there will always be an entitled person, who’ll leave the blind open to disturb others and then fall asleep themselves 😂

I sat next to to Grumpy Bum . But other wise I loved my flight ❤
