It’s getting better, and I’d say this is probably the best one I’ve seen yet, but still not there. It’s still in the uncanny valley and I think the three main culprits are the subtle lack of smoothness in his movements, his eyes and his mouth when he talks. Why can’t anyone do realistic eyes? They all look dead. I think one important element they can’t seem to simulate is gravity and the effect it has on the human body. CGI humans movements don’t look like they react to the pull of gravity. There’s no “weight”. So their movements are too mechanical and weightless. The human body has so many intricate muscles involved in its movements that unless they can develop software that captures these extremely subtle shifts, I doubt CGI people will ever be indistinguishable from real life.

I had some experinece with MoCap in the past (mostly thanks to a voice acting background) but this is something else, the highest echelon of the industry right there. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in the new Resident Evil Remakes :)

Metahuman and Unreal Engine gave me a hope to realise my dreams to create the films and series, based on games, which I want to do since early 2000th. Unreal Tournament 2004, Streets of Rage, WarCraft 3. Thank you, guys! You doing the Great Job!

Why are the portrayal of Asian in western game / engine are always so... monotone , so stereotypical , like they are completely unaware of how the modern asian are looking in 2023 ? Some of our asian tribe buddies have large round eyes too .
