I was just listening to the end where you describe the difference between the calibrations and was wondering if you could put me right on something. I have here a 170Xi4 which has developed some kind fo calibration issue which I am scratching my head over at this stage. It always displays a non-clearable Ribbon Out error when the printer is calibrated, but that includes doing this full calibration, as well as doing a short calibration, or each time an auto head-close/power-up calibration is performed. Even the short calibration will produce a Ribbon Out error. The calibrated default Ribbon S value is 065 as is fairly normal. When I drop this value below 50 the Ribbon Out error will clear. When I send a print job at a value below 50 the printer will Error again, BUT if I set the Ribbon S value to 0 (the consequences of which I am not sure of) the printer appears to work more or less fine. I have already changed the Ribbon Sensor - it made no difference at all as far as I can see. Have you ever come across this? Thanks.
