F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin Review

I liked F.E.A.R. 2 , not as much as the original game, but it was still amazing

I think the game looks really good for the year it came out. Unfortunately by the next year it was pretty standard. And it lacks the style of the original.

Honestly I enjoy this game, I was able to look past most of its flaws because it made my monkey brain happy, and in 2023 that’s enough for me. 😃

Got in to F.E.A.R. a few weeks ago, currently on F.E.A.R. 3 (Or F.3.A.R.). But the scariest part of F.E.A.R. 2 was the effects.

Good thing I was a big dummy-head when I played this. And most other games I loved/love.

I have nothing but contempt for the "controversy" because now that the people who got angry over it are in control of the industry they've been exposed as deeply damaging to everything they touch, actively hate the hobby and everyone that enjoys it, AND it's in companies under THEIR influence that the actual real life and provable abuse seems to happen.
But they are at least crashing and burning everything they touch so the enthusiasts will eventually get back in control, even if it's over ashes.

The first time I played this game is one of my favorite memories. One of my best friends invited me over back in the day, for a scary game night; I ended up playing this all the way through in one sitting, only taking a break for pizza. It's a classic in my book, living in the same memories of my heart like the Dead Space and the Silent Hill franchises

I have all of them I PS2 and I still play all of them they still make you jump still do the job

I heavily disagree with your review. This game is perfect period. Been playing it on ps3 since launch and still playing it. Right now in fact just took a pizza break. Playing it ps3 now like i have for 17 years. Never gonna quit either. I play fear 1 2 and 3 on ps3. Still play ps2 and ps1 consoles as well. 34 years of experience i can tell you games today are garbage compared to this. Period.

Yes, I remembered Army Man. I remembered him because he was the most obnoxious meat head character in the game, and I'm pretty sure he threatened to give me a "buckshot enema" or something like that.

I think what really made me realize how awful of a sequel F.E.A.R 2 is was when I quit playing right before the end segment and remembered that I had used slow-motion exactly 0 times throughout my whole playthrough of the game. It really is that mindless, especially when you compare it to the first F.E.A.R where slow-motion is infinitely more useful and satisfying.

my recommendation: play on difficult, believe me its way better. playing it on normal is way too easy, first encounter I had on the game I knew I had to ramp up the difficulty level.

im playing these game with a 1ooo bucks headphone the sound efect,music and enemy shoting me sound great but my shoting specially rifle and pistol sound like a joke.

This game is so fucking hard to look at I get a headache in less than a minute

I'll never get over how ridiculous it is that the one female squadmate in this game is wearing a damn crop top.

after Fear 1's shotgun, that shotgun in 2 is offensive.

I tried playing FEAR 1 few days ago because I remember it from my early teenage gamer days, but sadly, my brand new PC does not run it, at least the steam version, well. It stutters, fps are all over the place, and firefights are impossible. Shame, I have fond memories of the game.

I just cant get over how generic the art style looks. The guns and gear all look like they were ripped assets from that game Frontline Fuels of War.

I didn't play fear 2 as to my eyes at the time i found fear 2 lacking in the visual's and you nailed it when you said the lighting isn't all that good and that's what it was

The Fear 3 review was deleted? Shame, really wanted to rewatch it.
Played it and 2 before Fear 1, to enjoy it more. 3 was reasonably, too short for my taste, but in a surprise I actually liked playing as Fettel (besides the long cool down before being able to posses again)
Real shame the shotgun was pretty bad despite firing more pellets and shooting faster than the other game's
2 was ok, removing contact grenades really hurt the game, I ended up using the proximity mines as grenades since they are more useful. The dlc being too short and having the pretty shitty concept of "Boss fights" also hurts it.
Both shotguns being amazing helps it, however

No disrespect to Jenn Taylor, but she really didn't even try to sound like anything other than just Cortana. I mean, I imagine they asked for it, or whatever, so who knows who is to blame, but thats not some character from this universe, it's Cortana.

toning it down for console doesn't work as a valid reason (excuse, really) when console only or console-also examples exist that do it just fine.

It's like the devs of the second Deus Ex Game that blamed Xbox and the dumber of the PC game group sucked that up - but, oops, other games on that platform did way more, and oh yeah - the first DE game was put on the lesser PS2 hardware just fine.

Guess we shouldn't be skipping dev blaming as much as we want to. Of course, the needs people to be less stupid, so never mind.

So uh i just completed F.E.A.R 1 and deciding to play extraction point , and though i'll see a review about the second game since i really really liked 1
But it feels like i am watching a generic cod-like game so i am not sure if i am gonna give it a go

Something I like about the story is the small detail that Delta Force (1st SFOD-D, CAG, ETC) is immune from Posse Comitatus and could conceivably be used to take down a mad scientist domestic corporation

Another thing to say about the horror sections of fear 2 is the constant fucking zooming in and out.
Like either stay zoomed in to see the horror up close or keep it far away to see the horror in first person for immersion

The truly shocking part is that somehow, FEAR 3 is worse.
