Air drying is very normal in most countries worldwide...i dont know why in the US people have bought into another mindset of their regime, that its necessary to have a dryer.

I have spring rod ends on cut to size curtain rods and have put them across the laundry from wall to wall, 2-3” down from the ceiling. Plenty of space to hang n forget!

I am in Australia and every home has an outdoor clothes line. When temperatures are too hot, over 95, or it's constantly raining, I have 2 tower drying racks plus racks that hang over doors.

In India it's normal to air dry clothes in the rooftop or balcony with drying rack or wires
Clothes dry faster in the rooftop because of the sun ☀️

I always hang my nicer clothes to dry. It prevents them shrinking in the dryer. 👍

When working in corporate world and in rentals I always hung dry my laundry. To save money. Not damage my clothes from bad dryers in the complex. Save time. Hung up while in my own place. Plus the clothing I bought in my corporate days were more valuable. If they needed ironed, iron when still damp. its less hard on your clothing fabric. Then dry ironing them.

Air drying is so common here in Europe, everyone has a drying rack. In the winter we put our clothes on the heater. Large sheets can be hung on the door.

Usually in humid countries like where i reside (philippines) hanging them under a tarp tent with hanging wires helps dry them and less worry on mold . During hot days after laundries it helps on the drying process to speed up for quick fold /hang and store
