Question- where is the best place to go for supplies/materials to get started, local home depot?

Far from perfect. Thumb down. Not done homework for making multiple reuse of containers and how to mix small quantities. I personally believe a silicone stick from kitchen is better then wooden stick because it will mix better to the edges of a container and epoxy doesn't bond to a silicone, so in theory you can reuse that mixing stick many times. I'm looking for a small silicone reusable containers for the same reason. Not sure if they're easy to use, but I hope.

When I’m doing carbon fibre parts and use epoxy resin can I add few drops of catalyst from polyester resin mix just to help speed up the drying time Coz each coat takes 3 hours. And polyester resin goes off to fast I’ll do a test bit but just wondering if anyone else has used it

So the answer is two parts resin to one part hardener

Every epoxy brand is different and, for beginners, low viscosity is definitely recommended because high viscosity versions are a gigantic pain in the ass to mix, remove air bubbles and its super easy to end up with a cloudy mess if you don't combine both parts JUST RIGHT.

I weighed my part B, 1.49g but when i weighed the same amount of part A i used a whole lot more of part A, is that because of the thickness difference of the 2 parts??

now i am confused, I have read on different epoxy containers and online that the ratios for weight and volume are slightly different, yet i see most surfboard builders using epoxy by weight and a ratio of 2:1, are there epoxy systems that use the same ratio weather mixing by weight or volume? thanks

(With a drop of pigment) I didn't know the size of the mold so i had to make the epoxy mixture twice ( 2 part resin+ 1 part hardener+ 1 drop pigment as per my Resin brand instruction). After pouring the second mixture, which is only about 5 minutes later, I realised the plastic bottle mold got heated up in a few minutes and deformed the mold.
Without pigment: Previously i had done it in one go and without adding any pigment, and it went perfect.
What could be the reason for the extreme heat that deformed the plastic bottle mold and the resin expansion? Kindly help me mitigate the problem 🙏

Sorry if I sound stupid(it may be the case, though)but...you said thar by quantity(volume) it is one-two. In weight is 100% 40%? I can't make it cures very well. It is(almost)always some "honey like" residues when the whole is hardened. And it takes at least 2 days depending on the size to solidify.
