Very very nice
ОтветитьAMAZING hearing Charanjit Singh out of a Syntakt
Ответитьoh damn, this video is so useful thank you so much bruuu 😇🙏🤟
Ответитьveryvery nice vid!
some hints (did not read through the comments, so sorry if I'm doubling)
KBD:
the cutoff is not keyboard tracked in a 303.
resonance:
resonance controls multiple parameters: it affects the cutoff, and the accent envelopes attack time apart of the obvious.
accented notes:
- decay time is fixed: it's the same as on the lowest decay time of the 303
- accent is additional envelope that adds up to the decaying envelope: it's attack time is a function of the resonance (no resonance means no attack, max. resonance means max. attack)
waveform:
- the square is not a perfect square, it has some pw offset
filter:
- it's a 24dB/Oct OTA filter design. it's referred to as 18dB/oct mostly because of one of it's poles is detunes by an octave
- the filter is non-linear, which adds a lot to it's character (especially on the square wave)
Nice work! The original 303 VFC did not have key tracking on the VCF (as far as I can remember). The MC 202 did have "KYBD". The 303 VCF's slope was approximately 24 dB/octave but I've read that it "behaved" like a 3 pole filter much of the time. It also had pretty significant nonlinear feedback in the ladder network due to the diodes, something which is super hard to emulate "correctly" numerically, using soft synth tech. You could really make that ladder whistle like crazy! Then again, no 303 sounded exactly like another.
ОтветитьTen ragas for a disco beat
ОтветитьI have to check if this works the same on the analog four
ОтветитьBought a Syntakt today and this was literally the first thing I did - great tutorial! 😜
ОтветитьAwesome
Ответитьthank you. I played with it now.
ОтветитьLet's make a deal... I'll hit the like and subscribe buttons, along with the bell, if you upload a full length version of the Raga Bhairav/Amen Break thing. My soul needs it so bad.
ОтветитьWould love to see a Model: Cycles overview! Even though theres plenty info out there, your videos are the most understandable and contain small cookies of wisdom that are hard to come by! (Also super funny)
Ответитьgreat video !
ОтветитьFinally! I tutorial on Elektron portamento I've been searching for! Thank you!
Ответитьexcellent tutorial!
now i wonder can Syntakt sound like 101 ))
🔥
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьDo you do a tutorial on the syntakt to create the Baga Bhairav line?
Or the amen break? 😳😎🤘🏼
Although more complicated, the Syntakt sounds just as good, and has more to offer than a 303. Elektron should create a 303 mode, but add some bells and whistles to the options. Considering the amount of tracks on the Syntakt, you could technically create multiple 303's, and have them play off each other. I just recently got the Syntakt, so I have yet to wrap my head around it. It's my first Elektron box. After experiencing how nice the Elektron boxes are, I've ordered the Octatrack MK2 and the Analog Rytm MK2. I'm thinking about getting the rest of them as well. I'm just not sure if I need them. I already own a bunch of other gear. I only had the Korg Analog Kick with the MS 20 filter, and the Syntakt for drum machines, so the Rytm made sense. I already owned a MPC Live 2, Maschine Plus, Deluge, and Organelle M, but the Octatrack offers options that they don't have, so it also made sense to get the OT. I own the OB-X8, Sub 37, Grandmother, Iridium Keys, Hydrasynth 49, Opsix, GR-1 Minilogue XD, Behringer Model D, and a pretty nice pedal collection, plus other gear, so I'm not sure if the other boxes make sense. I have a Hapax, Beatstep Pro, and SQ-64, so I have sequencer options. My software collection is filled to the brim as well. It makes me feel indecisive about getting the A4, and Digi's. I think it would be cool to have 2 A4's, to have 8 voices, with the Elektron sequencer on my desktop, but I could take that money and put it towards a Prophet 10, which is on my wanted list.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial. My first ever groove box is the Syntakt, this tutorial really helped me to explore it further.
ОтветитьHow does the lfo portamento workaround work, asking for my Analog Rytm mk2 dual vco ? Very cool video 👍
ОтветитьTEN RAGAS!?!? HELL YEAH!!!!
Ответитьdidn't knew I needed another expensive 303 clone lmao
Ответитьthats awesome results.. can you do this with Deluge too ?
ОтветитьA Boss DS-1 for the distortion would be even more authentic.
ОтветитьJust bought a syntakt and as I was playing around the first night, I heard the bones of a 303 with the analog bass machine. I knew it was capable, and your video confirmed it. Thanks to you, I can oust my TD-3 and all of it's annoyances from my live setup. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
ОтветитьCan you do this on Digitakt?
ОтветитьIn re-watching this video after getting a Syntakt I noticed something that was missed. The Syntakt has two slope modes for portamento - Constant Rate and Constant Time. The default is Rate however the 303 uses a Constant Time setting. This can be changed in the Sound menu by going into the Portamento submenu. Other than that, stellar video!
ОтветитьHey Captain! I've been following you for a while now and I think everything is perfect in your videos! The rhythm, the image, the sound recording, the color grading, the content, everything is neat/pro and I love the deep voice! Bravo and thank you for all this and don't change anything dude!
ОтветитьSavage teacher! THANK U!
ОтветитьJust tried all this, and it’s really helpful, for a noob like me it helps to see what’s actually happening to the sound as you work along with the vid.
…this 303 setup is also more complicated and time consuming than setting up an actual 303 😁
Thanks, Captain, great work as is usual 👍🏻
Woa! How did you boost everything at the end?
Ответитьis there anyone else who thinks the basic saw wave sounds pretty dull?
ОтветитьWow, the jam sounds really cool 🔥
ОтветитьDA FUNK bassline - classic! ;)
Ответитьgood stuff. i need to buy a SYNTAKT
ОтветитьThe one thing that I wish the syntakt had is a FX send and return for outboard effects like the distortion pedal you used at the end.
ОтветитьNice walkthrough. Considering replacing my Digitone with this. Seems like more interesting options, overall. Nice acid-tones, sir. ;)
ОтветитьLove that you made this video!
ОтветитьYou did it! f*n Nice!
ОтветитьYour voice always reminds me of the airplane safety instructions before takeoff 😉, geniale Videos, weiter so! 👌
ОтветитьPurists will disagree but that's a decent acid sound to me.
ОтветитьI just ordered the Syntakt. This is the video I needed!
Ответитьtbe answer is no. it can sound close. but its not the same.
ОтветитьHey, how did you program the bassline for the end? Ive been trying on my TD 3 but i cant get it right, would it be possible to send me a midi file?
Ответить
