may I know why we need to use base64 here to decode ?

Would it be a right statement if I say that when a developer is using using the a SDK, the developer is not getting access to the data encryption key in plain text format.

I want to use AWS kMS with Mediatailor Channel Assembly.I created symmetric key from KMS,I also have the ARN,now what value shall I put in"Secret string key" ? in EMT Channel Assembly ?

In my use case I will probably have many CMK, one per device in my fleet, the CMK name would be the deviceId. Is there any drawback if for a particular CMK I call KMS each time to generate a pair clear-data-key/encrypted-data-key but will only use the clear-data-key? This is would be to avoid keeping locally a mapping deviceId/encrypted-data-key. Will KMS always return the same pair for the same CMK name (deviceId in my case) ?
