This Remarkable 2 tablet does (almost) nothing...

Ordered one & am reviewing how others use theirs - liked a lot of what you’re doing here & will borrow a number of them - question about the Morning Pages - love the concept but do you do anything with them afterward i.e. review them periodically or is it just the cathartic process that you feel benefits?

I hate mine, everytime I need to add new scientific publication, I need to delete something old. Storage is miniscule. Also uploading process itself is more involved than it should be. I was exppecting to have a folder and drag drop my files. No it starts a web server inside the tablet and I need to use it and it is not reliable.

I'm not even going to buy the Remarkable. Yet. But this was the best review I've seen online for any product. I learned a lot about the product, but I learned more about mindfulness and organization. And getting just the right amount of denim.

I don't understand what you paid $1k for? I just checked the German website and they're selling a bundle with the tablet, keyboard folio, marker plus and extra bits and bobs for ca. 675 euros (full price) with a special bundle deal at 617. How did you get so screwed?!

I ahve seen a lot of reviews as I try to decide if I want to be someone who buys a 600 dollar bundle to replace my $2 legal pad. and this is the video that did me in. Loved seeing you use it and give feedback. Gave me a real sense of what life might be like to integrate somethign like this.

Are you being paid to sell them? This tablet is useless. And by useless I mean, they're forcing people to buy a tablet which requires you to pay to connect to the internet...otherwise it's just a rock without internet...and by internet I mean...the possibility to access the cloud......they charge a monthly subscription just to connec to an already-existing Google Drive cloud. It sounds ridiculous...this tablet is already a couple of years old and they're just greedy. it's way too expensive for people to have to pay extra for a pen, a folio and cloud storage...no way.

Hey Ryan, great review, I’m just about to purchase a remarkable 2 but I’m wondering whether to choose the slip folio case with integrated pen holder or the book folio like you have her? My main concern is the pen may just fall off the side and get lost with the book folio?

I've had the remarkable 2 for a while, maybe a year. And there ARE glitches on the screen. When I write in certain spots, and say I'm writing a word, sometimes the letters will jump a few millimeters up, so the word is not straight on the "paper" lines as I write. As if there's something repelling the E-ink to a different part of the screen. It IS very irritating. Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to bother me.

I am looking to purchase the remarkable as I am Dyslexic and dont spell well. I keep a pad by my computer as I work in technology and deal with customers. I thought maybe this can help as a lot of times I take notes but loose them or I can read my hand writing sometimes. Will it convert my handwriting to digital like word? I wonder if ill use it... any thoughts

Can I open a pdf of a cad drawing and mark it up?

This is fantastic, it's exactly how I feel. I will use it often in sharing what I think about it. No need for me to try something like this - it's already done. My mind is totally less cluttered.

Thanks for this review. This is a beatiful device, which I'd probably shell out for if my job involved writing everyday. As it is, your review helped me realise that I can still achieve what I need to with Evernote and Rocketbook (even morning pages, which I will now borrow, thanks). But I'll definitely keep this review in mind if my work shifts enough to make it worth the price for me.

I just bought one primarily for brainstorming. I do a lot of writing, and the first stage of brainstorming involved a sort of stream of consciousness, but with actual paragraphs and on one theme. The problem is that I don't like doing this on a keyboard for some reason. So, I have the blank lined paper pads that I go through. The downside is that THEN I have to type these up before working on shaping and organizing. So what attracted me to this is that I can turn the handwriting into editable text. This saves a LOT of time. The one downside I haven't yet figured out is that it looks like you have to subscribe to the $2.99/month online account (first year is free) in order to make this part work. It isn't that much money, but it seems there ought to be ways to do this without payng extra?

Thank you for this very thorough review. I currently own a Kindle Scribe, which I absolutely love for reading and taking notes in books and occasionally using the notebook feature. However, I'm in the market for a more sophisticated device to replace all of my notebooks. I love to write things down, but I'm compiling items in my small space. I really like the device's design, and now there is a folio feature for typing. I am excited to make a purchase soon.
