ОтветитьOkay, so I have to agree with Greg here just based on personal experience.
I walked a 5 mile route by my house 6 months ago in an hour and 20 minutes. It now takes me only an hour and I'm losing a little more weight than I was in the earlier stages, while still eating the equivalent calories.
I know it's only anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt, but what Greg made sense when applied to the real world, not a clinical research study. Go harder than last time!

Ответить20 min on a treadmill at 200lbs vs 20 min on a treadmill (at the same pace, doesn't say they go faster or longer) at 175 lbs, you are burning less calories. Your body also adapts over time to make certain movements easier which requires less energy and therefore less burned.

After looking at the comments I am seeing people get mad at Jeremy for all the wrong reasons. 1 - To put a quick summayr: jeremy knows that if you weigh less you burn less. What he said is that this DOES NOT explain the difference completely. he says efficiency is more to blame. He then reports a study "proving" this. The study proves metabolic efficiency is a real thing... BUT its only at watts between 10 and 25... Hence dick flicking cardio. 2 - stop trying to correct wattage to calorie conversion pretending you know more than me about this. countless posts of people using phyusics (joules to watts, etc) but not taking into account the human body is only about .24 chemomechanically efficient. 3 - Don't harp on his math. the study said 15%, he shows 20%. WHATEVER. the main point is the friggen study was used to promote his nonsense. BTW: for you smarty pantses, the study adjusted for bodyweight... so the metabolic effficiency is a real thing. just not beyond VERY LOW cardio output. STUDY ITSELF ISN'T FLAWED. Its the interpreter
