Surprising as it is, Snoke is quite lenient with his apprentice. If he was more vicious, he would order Hux to stay (a nr 1 guy whom Kylo hates in the First Order) to watch Ren's plight.

Still don’t get the point in making Snoke CG, but that shot where he says “take that ridiculous thing off” is perfect.

Palpatine's manipulation was through subtle appraisals of Anakin. Convincing him that he cared about him up until the end.
Snoke is much more overt in his cruelty. Not even pretending that Ben was anything more than a slave. A thing he could use and abuse. Ben probably sees through him, but given that he doesn't have his family around...who does he have? It's a classic case of what abuse does to someone.

Andy serkis as snoke was amazing i wish we gotten more of him.

Lord do i wish snoke was some other guy and not a clone, and I will say for it's many many flaws, kylo not wanting to be a vader wanna be anymore was great but JJ abrhams had other plans

Snokes voice reminds me of Palpatines original voice before they replaced it with Ian McDirmands

The only scene I save in the sequels. Great scenery, great antagonist and great music.

I can't help but feel a little cheated, not just in terms of them failing to make Ren THE big bad instead of Snoke but they didn't do him any favors by making him a direct copy of Palpy. If they did Ren right in the follow-up, this could have been forgiven.

There's gotta be an outline or something JJ or whoever had in mind for him that wasn't just a clone or vessel for Palpy. There's got to be one.

Putting aside the failure of the sequel trilogy, Andy Serkis was once again masterful as Snoke.

The motion capture was also pretty damn great, considering how distracting a fully CGI performance can be. You always run the risk of losing the actor's nuance in the effects.

Wasted potential

Such an insane wasted opportunity to make Snoke so insignificant...after TFA dropped, people were abuzz talking about who is Snoke, is he ultra powered? Is he a giant? such a disappointment.

Arguably the best scene in the entire sequel trilogy

As much as this film and the next suck. Andy Serkis did a fantastic performance

I know it's a bad star wars movie, but I love The Last Jedi. in my opinion it's a good movie on his own
