One very important thing that wasn't mentioned: You need to install drivers for your programmator/USB>TTL converter. By default there is no USB driver which would translate the serial signal and you will be getting port errors while trying to upload your code. If you don't know this you might waste hours trying to debug the wrong things and might come to a false conclusion that your STM32 is broken.

There are other STM32 experimenting kits called STM32 Nucleo. There are many types, even with some of the most powerfull dual core 480MHz STM32H7 series microcontrollers that have lots more flash and ram, and specialised instructions for crypto for instance. Some cryptocurrency devices uses them for example. I don't know how easy it is to program them with Arduino IDE. But.. There is a more professional solution in the form of STMCubeIDE which knows about most if not all of the STM microcontrollers and experimenting kits

For anyone who wants to create some products for sale in the EU, knowing what the compliance rules for CE RoHS are. The Bureaucratic Paper work is more difficult than the Circuit design. I have just started to look into this, what A swamp of rules! From what I read some of this kicks in a product that uses voltages of 50 Volts or Higher, but it has proven difficult to get a real answer!

Hello there. I bought a cheap Arduino pro micro from sparkfun electronics.
i find it very unique although it uses the atmega 32u4 chip.
i thought i could use it in a small project due to its small size and a powerful microcontroller
i always have problems when initializing serial communication spi communication and getting my hc05 into AT mode interface on serial monitor.
The board is fragile and i hope it wins the contest in the next video.

I used to use hc11 processors, and some others, and got used to the uA range work when I worked in the "mobile phone" world... BTW, if you want a very nice LED driver, look at the L5521/5523 (3 ch/9 ch) from TI; these are programmable, via I2C, with three "engines" that drive the LEDs, even with you CPU powered down, or in 'sleep' mode

The 8 bit pwm is a limitation of Arduino, not from the AVR. In some situations it might help to use pure C to release the full power of the controller than use another controller. Arduino is nice, but comes with the cost of some overhead and some limitations

Set your timer's ARR to 7199 instead of 7200 for an interrupt per second. Its a small difference but can make a difference in the long run.
