Would have been interesting to see their faces if they had given the 'testers' an espresso using Yirgachaffe 😊
ОтветитьLooking for a cafe that could do single origin light roast turbo shots. So hard to come by
ОтветитьI like trying different things all thf time. I do have favourites so far that I go back to but I am always lolkjng for the next coffee to blow my tastebuds!😊😊
ОтветитьInteresting. I'm a cheapskate, and indeed, the Brazil Santos is my daily driver. I have a humble Breville Barista Express at home and I believe the beans are a good match to my machine. Maybe if I upgrade to La Marzocco then I can justify more expensive coffee.
ОтветитьIt's not easy. Buy beans from a local store that makes an absolutely amazing coffee. Same beans at home on a Delonghi practically tastes like a different coffee even with same recipe. Cheap espresso maker versus the 25k commercial grade La Marzocco.
ОтветитьDo you sometimes find a dead cartel member stuffed in a coffee sack part of your order from Columbia????
ОтветитьWho the fuck charges $25 for a coffee???
ОтветитьI’m working at Starbucks. It has a several coffee bean. To be honest, I’ve felt none of them are tasty. Don’t get me wrong, Starbucks has a amazing culture, where you can learn and grow. For example, you can know what makes good coffee if you compare between the origins.
ОтветитьAs long as it is not the overpriced & overrated rubbish from starbucks, it is likely to be good.
ОтветитьPeople who can’t taste the difference are stupid fools.
ОтветитьYou are so biased. 40 percent didn't pick the most expensive coffee. Only half picked the cheap one. This a huge portions and reflects that we may not know the difference between expensive and cheap coffees even though we are made to pay huge amounts of money, at least half the time unnecessarily. You should explore this. Why are you cheating those who picked the right one? Are you paid by the expensive coffee venders?
Ответитьnice video but the market research was done improperly. dont tell participants the purpose of the study because they then try to make their results "fit", and then the data becomes unreliable and lowers it utility in helping make business decisions.Suggestion, simply ask people coming into the shop at random, "which coffee do you like best". Then note down their choice
ОтветитьAwesome video :)
It's something I've observed as well. Many people do not like expensive coffee because they like the taste of coffee rather than the floral aroma. Such people usually like espresso more than filter coffee.
BY FAR the most expensive cup of coffee I've ever had was at World Champion Barista Tim Wendelboe's espresso bar in Oslo, Norway. It was just big enough for one sip, and it was the most acidic and overpowering thing I've ever tasted. Never in my life I've hated a cup of coffee as much as I hated that one, so I can attest that fancy coffee is not for everyone!
Ответить« Not my cup of tea » obviously not compétant to judge coffee.
ОтветитьWhy are you wearing a mask?
ОтветитьI only drink two kinds of coffee. Columbian Medium Roast and Columbian Medium Roast. Gevalia is the best in the world. Anyone who drinks Starbuck coffee and likes it should have their head examined.
Ответитьit makes me so happy that the testers didn't have to wear masks during tasting;
ОтветитьMmmmmm. This sounds rigged to sell expensive coffee.
ОтветитьNext one: Can Baristas blind taste the difference... :)
ОтветитьONE THING IS FOR SURE. AUSTRALIAN KNOW THEIR COFFEE.
Ответить$3 cup is expensive
Ответитьvery interesting, and absolutely true! I've tried different type of beans, and really not very attached to the price. But certainly different area gives different flavours, and it's fun to switch between them. Now, if I find something I don't really like, I'll just french press it to share with people, because it might be only me not like it, but others might love it
ОтветитьYou're gonna buy fancy, expensive coffee and then brew it in the cheapest, weakest way possible?? 😱
Ответить"Its not my cup of tea"
No, miss, its your cup of coffee
Wonder if it would be the same for lattes, or harder to dinstinguish
ОтветитьMy family is in the coffee business. I've done many marketing tests and people can't tell the difference between expensive or cheap. Price is in your mind. Marketing people can make you believe in whatever they want. Wine is the same. There are lots of psychological tricks to make you feel that something tastes better.
ОтветитьCoffee is like wine. Only the snobs think they can actually tell the difference.
ОтветитьThere's coffee lovers and then there's "ordinary people"
ОтветитьDid you reward that lady a bag of the cheap stuff?
ОтветитьA better question would be which do you like, not which is most expensive. Just looking for the one that taste the farthest from what you normally is likely to be the most expensive. Even if you don't think it's the best
ОтветитьThis test really needed a 1$ a cup robusta in the line up, to cover all the bases.
Seeing if a regular person will taste test a difference between a 7, 8, and 9 is one thing. But once there's a 4 in the line-up, do they start paying more attention?
I only clicked because of the lady on the thumbnail. Can't see her in the video. What a disappointment.
ОтветитьThis is bullshit. Fuck all this. This is totally a fucking first world issue. I don't bloody care where the bleedin' coffee comes from. It's just coffee, love. $1 at McDonalds
ОтветитьYou’re man kept pointing to the most expensive coffee order in his explanation of the challenge
ОтветитьThat's all good, but buying a black coffee in a cafe these days, it's like buying a lotto ticket... with very small chances of getting a decent one.
Ответить"Sometimes, things that are expensive, are worse"
ОтветитьWe've got Spaghetti-Os, TV dinner spaghetti, or this pasta from an authentic Italian restaurant.
"I think I like Spaghetti-Os the most. It's no-nonsense and simple."
well given the channel, I am not that confident that this study was conducted objectively...
Nice video though.
Espresso is too strong for many to make a distinction.
A lighter drip coffee is easier to notice differences.
Some people have a more sensitive pallet and can taste the difference.
Ответитьso, nobody give a fuck
ОтветитьI wanted to watch but I can't watch people wearing masks. I call it mask PTSD.
ОтветитьGreat video! It would be awesome if you did a real deep dive with different grades of coffee and see how they turn out with different brew methods, then run a similar test to see if people could still tell the difference.
With fancy coffees in particular, I've seen how significant of a difference there can be in the flavor profile just from the brew method, i.e. drip vs. pour over vs. French press and subtle differences in the water temperatures. Drip makers especially aren't the best way to maximize flavor, particularly if it's a cheap machine that doesn't evenly spray and moisten the grinds.
Nevertheless, very informative on a basic level to demonstrate how cheap coffee differs from the bougie :)
Like you said, Even if someone can tell which is the most expensive because of the complex flavors, it doesn’t mean the individual prefers that. It’s no different with foods we eat — some people love a complex curry dish but others prefer a simple prosciutto on Italian bread.
ОтветитьGreat idea, looking forward to seeing the results.
ОтветитьIt has a lot more to do with preference than it does to price. Price is just a reflection of the work that went into it.
ОтветитьWas never into coffee or caffeinated tea and I'm turkish. Haha! Heresy, right?
I remember last time drinking coffee in 2014 to "wake me up" and didn't feel any change after 2 cups, so I was like "Meh, tastes bad unless I put a crap ton of sugar in, than again, I could just drink some orange juice if sugar is what I'm looking for".
I would fail this test so hard. 😂
