I loved this series back then. We only had antenna TV, but once in a while it would come in. It was so different. Thank you!
Ответитьthe opening scene is 17300 Pacific Coast Hwy Pacific Palisades, CA 90272, and the houses are still on the hill that fell during the Northridge earthquake.
ОтветитьI've watched this episode twelve times since accidentally discovering it last autumn. I love everything about it. Whitman and Rowlands have perfect chemistry, and the setting is perfect for a ghost story.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite episodes that I keep coming back to!
ОтветитьWedded and bedded you 10 years ago! Never get dialog like that any more
ОтветитьStuart Whitman - he was great .
I like his western roles - Cimmaron Strip was short~lived .
RIP
I shook hands with a guy that met Stuart Whitman at an airport....true story..
ОтветитьI think that Stuart Whitman was born looking 50 years old. He's looked 50 years old on everything that I've seen him in .
ОтветитьI absolutely loved Ghost Story/Circle Of Fear when I was a kid. I remember how this episode scared the crap out of me.
ОтветитьI like this movie....;all except the voices of the ghost voices.
ОтветитьLove these olders shows! No need for the ugliness we see nowadays. And good to see Mr. French once again.
ОтветитьI like the atmosheric mood formed by low contrast lighting captured in glittering natural light by the cliffs at sea overlooking the derelict small hotel. However i feel the characters were badly casted and costunes were riduliculous with no purpose for their bright violet and red colours. This especially goes for the family guy man from the Waltons TV series running around shirtless and constantly kissing her for no reason. He thinks he is matcho. Also the hair dye does not help.i like the horror genre and ghost stories are my favourite. Fair enough they move at a slow pace which i like but the plot in this film hardly moves forward. It seems stuck in time just like the cheesy slimy looking ghost of the captain 😂. I think the only plus point of this film is that it serves its purpose of creating a very subdued but relaxing atmosphere through low contrast lighting captured in natural daylight and sound of whirling wind blowing by the cliffs 😮. The protagonists goal is to fulfill their desire of visiting the haunted location driven by her instincts with a need to find closure in this place with her sidekick husband. The chemistry between them is forrmed through trust which creates intimacy, sensitivity and peace between them in the face of fear which otherwise would have left them feeling helpless and scared.
ОтветитьI was a freshman in high school when this came out. Didn't see very much of them because I was out running around like teenagers do😅
ОтветитьAwesome. When TV was still good. ❤
ОтветитьWow, very cool...I watched this show when I was a kid...very scary to me then but now it’s purely nostalgia. Great to see Gena Rowlands always.
ОтветитьVery atmospheric and with strong gothic touches. The waves pounding against the rocks, the whistling of the constant sea wind, the fate that will have its way. The sea has a thousand stories to tell and this was a very good one. Well made.
ОтветитьWow, Gina Rowlands was quite the fox in her day!
ОтветитьMansfield House is actually Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego... Stayed there in May of '23...GREAT Hotel
ОтветитьRolands was GREAT as Gloria
ОтветитьThese older movies are somewhat calming to watch..even if a bit creepy. 1970’s were great years.
ОтветитьGena Rowlands is/was beautiful. She’s kept her same hair cut and color all the years. I hadn’t seen her in a while, then years ago, I saw her in “Taking Lives” with Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke. She was obviously older, but still classy and beautiful. Her acting was still top notch.
Ответитьgoing off with your sarcy annoying husband instead of the man who died and waited centuries for your souls to be reunited...fumble of the century.
ОтветитьWhat a variety of ideas, what lively actors, how cozy and at the same time uncomfortable(in the good sense of the word) They used to be able to make movies and tell scary stories!
ОтветитьI was 10 when this played on TV. I (even at a tender young age, and not really understanding it), had a huge crush on Stuart Whitman 😅
ОтветитьI was out of the country in 1972. I'm just discovering this TV show today in 2024, ... oops🤣😂🥲😏👋❣
ОтветитьP.S.: The male protagonist is still a kinder gentler toxic male chauvinist😲😢.
ОтветитьAnd the purpose of hitting her was....???
ОтветитьHe is a idiot . The woman is in a trance and he goes and kiss her.
ОтветитьBeautiful seaside Cali. A once great state.
ОтветитьI live in the UK in a very old creepy house. I love watching these. I've never seen them. Better than the crap they make today.
Ответить👍👌⭐⭐⭐
ОтветитьGena Rowlands, who is 94 now, she is consciously or unconsciously creating what would be her BPD/ alcoholic character for her upcoming 1974 film, " A Woman Under The Influence".
ОтветитьGena Rowlands <3 brilliant actor acclaimed for ambitious intelligent films with Cassavetes
Ответить@WINSTON ESSEX**Thanks for this GHOST STORY episode and if commenters are interested as many of them are saying they like that car of STUART WHITMANS its a 1972 CHEVROLET ""IMPALA"" or ""CAPRICE"" in its original and VERY POPULAR for the 72 chevrolets== LIME GREEN!!!!
ОтветитьThanks !
ОтветитьR.I.P. Gena Rowlands
ОтветитьI showed this episode on giant movie screen at the movie club there . Good creepy episode ! Rest in Peace Gena Rowlands she passed away August 13 , 2024 . Beautiful woman ! 👩
ОтветитьSorry, but this episode was a bit of a snore. Dragged out scenes to fill an hour of TV. It's very common back in the day. The Outer Limits did the same thing. A 30 minute story streeetched with scene after scene that drags on and on. No payoff in the end. 1 out of 10.
ОтветитьHer Hubby needs to seriously pay some attention to those eye brows😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьRIP Gena Rowlands
ОтветитьMan I miss shows like this😢
ОтветитьWalter Burke ( as daniel ) seems to be Willem Defoe's grand grand grand father !😎😁
ОтветитьGena Gena !😋😋😋😋
ОтветитьI did not realize how beautiful Gena Rowland’s was when she was younger
ОтветитьGreat job transferring these to you tube… very clean great clarity I copied all to my channel too
ОтветитьThanks for oodting these. I was 9 when this came out lol
ОтветитьThat's the woman from Skelton Key.
