Best $500 Youtuber Camera in 2019? Canon M50 vs Panasonic Lumix G7

I would like to add for filmmakers, that the g7 can not work with an external monitor while recording, which is pretty necessary for using manual focus

I want the m50

I would have to say that I think that the M50 color wise to me kind of seems more natural, I watched plenty of these comparison videos and the M50 just kind of has this more sort of warmer tone to it, that I feel is kind of more of a natural look

Yes the best is G7 than m50. G7 is best on low light and also the sun light. The focus of it is so fast than m50

I am a beginner-Videografer and i got the m50 and the m50 mark ii.. i shoot a couple of events with that camera and i must say that i love this camera.. especially with the Ef-Adapter i got so much options.... like the nifty fifty sigma 18-200 and so on. Soon i will switch to a Fullframe, but for now, i am very happy with the Results and my Clients too!

And i will definitely stick with Canon!!!

I have a G7 and a Fuji X-T20.

Never mind the AF, you need a LOT of light for it to output quality video, whereas an APS-C like the X-T20 works well with just a dim ceiling light.

I don't know why but I found the g7 image more cinematographic...maybe is that I found the canon image so sharp that looks like a tv commercial although many people say that Lumix has a digital look

"look more like you´re shooting out of a cinema camera opposed to a small sensored camera" what? APSC is nearly the sensorsize of a Super 35 Sensor of a Cinema Camera. Bigger Sensor dont make the better look :)

I wanna be able to start my filming hobby/interest but I’m having a hard time finding a camera in my budget which is under $650-$700 and these two fit my price range but I’m having a difficult time deciding which would benefit me.

Because part of me wants that 4k resolution but part of me also wants that HD sharp quality, you know?
I don’t know if this helps but my monitor is 2k resolution and I would be editing on Adobe premiere.

But I really need help to decide which camera to choose from, my buddy also has the G7 and recommends it for its 4k resolution (I know they both have 4k) but what also makes me not want to do the canon is the 4k crop issue but I absolutely love the autofocus on the canon because it would be beneficial in films.

But I really need someone to be realistic with me.

Why would I want a pip-squeak micro 4/3 sensor?

It was passed 3 years...maybe you don't remember, but i want to buy it now and my question is: If i have to use the Lumix G7 near a lathe or a milling machine, near i mean 30 cm - 40 cm, it will be easy to record videos with with supplied lens 14-32 mm at that distance ? It is not a "macro" but i have to stay near the chuck of the lathe or the milling machine !! TIA if you can answer me, best regards, Alberto.

This video didn't age well. Sony has one of the best autofocus system out there, Nikon being second.

Here is a tip for YT-Vloggers - Use the GX-7 camera in manual mode and choose aperture for the appropiate field of depth within the range of moving-and non moving objects, make separate pics (and movie) for extreme close-ups. It works better in 99% of all indoor vlogging then having the auto-focus hunt forever. Better on battery life too. Just add more light so you can work with a smaller aperture.The M50 is twice the price of the LX7, but those of you with the LX7 and dont trust the AF anymore its worth trying out.
