Call this what it is... GREED. I am not paying for any component that is loaded with useless garbage. Fortunately, there is a relatively easy fix to this trend. Content creators like JTC need to start testing and posting reviews of hardware. The reviews need to be honest, and the reviewer needs to be competent. In my opinion, manufacturers are getting away with so much because of the failure publications like Maximum PC. Back in the day, they were the best trade magazine out there.
ОтветитьI have always used EVGA motherboards since they first came out.. they are built no-nonsense , with the best parts available ,exceptional build quality .. never had one fail . Always at a great price ..
ОтветитьI run a 5800x on a $120 msi motherboard and never had an issue. The motherboard supports my m.2s and my graphics card and that's all I care about.
ОтветитьHi, Thanks for the input on Motherboards. I'm currently running Rampage lll Extreme with 980x water cooling. It's to the stage where the my whole system is degrading with time and need to upgrade. I haven't sourced hardware in a few years. This video had some wisdom in it. Will help with starting a new build. Thanks Subscribed
ОтветитьI got an I3 12100f for 80$ and a 6600 for 200$. Yet the Motherboards are so expensige that with an Ryzen 5500 I could have gone with a 7600.
Ответитьand only one fan header on the budget ones man i bought a budget MB do u think I can spend an extra dollar on a pwm fan hub
ОтветитьFound this really insightful, thank you.
ОтветитьI've been building computers since the mid eighties, first adding 20MB filecards in PC/XTs (yeah, MFM hard drives used to be smaller than today's CPU cache). I stopped circa 2010. Now I buy 2nd hand 5 years old workstations for a song, max them out, and run them until they choke on the latest internet fad they can't handle. Rinse, repeat. They are beasts engineered to run 24/7 at max speed for years, and they do.
ОтветитьBut dont you need higher RAM support for high level gaming or other uses? I am getting in to machine learning and I hear that 64gb of dddr5 RAM is the minimum requirement.
ОтветитьId like to see the back end costs to see how much it cost to make then see what the markup is. I cant blame a company for making a soild gold version if people want it as long as the profit markup is the same. As long as you can still have budget options
ОтветитьMe: I don't watch TV.
Also me: watches a 20 minute retrospective on motherboards
"back in the day" me with my intel i5 4460 :|
ОтветитьMy budget around USD 250-260 (max) what's the best option for the processor i7 13700 (non K)?
also, my built will be DDR5 memory and for productivity purpose (e.g. editing)
[some suggestions will be great]
Thanks!
I got my motherboard for free with the purchase of the CPU I bought. That's how I roll 🤷♂️
ОтветитьMy first build I ever made was a great midrange build with a 1050ti and a first gen Ryzen CPU, with 16GB of ram. Back then, that was midrange and it only costed me around $500. How the HELL did my last build with an R7 7700X, RX6750XT, and 32GB of ram cost $1300? Thats almost 3x the price!!!
The PC industry needs a serious reality check
Im still running that Gigabyte MOBO from 10 yrs ago! Still going strong but time to upgrade the whole system.
ОтветитьForget WiFi, we just have to pay more to get a heatsink on VRMs these days. I mean how much is a piece of metal going to cost these manufacturers?
ОтветитьManufacturers need to take a good long look at this video and stop their bullshit. End of the line.
Ответитьim not spending over 250 for my motherboard , i dont need an LCD screen on my Mb, if anything ill make screen for cpu and ram usage or whatever , and have it mounted on my case or something
ОтветитьOf course developers are over inflated they’re prices.. if you think the 4090 price makes sense you need a brain check 😂 (I say you but I’m generally speaking)
ОтветитьWhen you're brand new, you're retro. By the time I want a new cpu, I want a whole new system. You could BGA bond the chips and screw the socket heat.
ОтветитьI bought fx board for my Vishera, which still runs well for Linux, that cpu has an onboard AMD clock with a ton of timing precision. but NB-SB unmeasured bandwidth choke. That's why you wanted an APU generally. I keep that Fractal Design build under 30dB noise as an audio wkstn and bottomline dev profile, no liquid cooling, still frigid(65-75F) with a huge CoolerMaster sink. It still runs well with DDR3.:/
ОтветитьJust don't buy it. The fact you are using a high cost mb yourself, nullifies your video....
ОтветитьThe truth is that, as long as there is someone to pay for what they ask for in this generation, they will certainly add an LED in the next one and charge even more for it. messed up part of Capitalism.
ОтветитьI'm looking at a new build right now and I'm seeing an MSI board for 280 euro and it basically has everything. WIFI. 10 usb, all audio ports, 2,5gbit ethernet, 6 sata, pci-e 5 and 4 m2 slots, and even a clear cmos buttons. I have looked at boards of 400 and 500 euro but there's barely any difference that I can see. Some have 1 extra m2 slots maybe 2 more usb but THAT"S IT. everything else is basically the same. Why are they 200-300 more. It's crazy.
ОтветитьThis could have been a 3 minute video.
ОтветитьYou are right. The prices are ridiculous. Intel doing low base clocks on non k chips means you may as well get a z series board and overclock a bit because who wants to run a k series chip in a b series non overclock motherboard just to get a higher base clock. Ca ching ca ching ca ching...
Ответитьx670e hero is extremely overpriced... i switched my system to it after gigabyte x570 aorus extreme (because of am5 platform) and noticed such a downgrade of functions, quality etc
ОтветитьMy Ryzen 5800X3D and RTX 3090 Ti run great on the $120 MSI B550A-Pro. That MOBO has a great VRM section, and enough of everything else I need. I think It was your advice in a video from a year ago that steered me towards that one.
ОтветитьProart b550 am4 motherboard selling for 250 bucks. It has 10g and two thunderbolt 4 ports. The same AM5 mobo costs 600+ dollaroos. Nope. I'm staying with last gen.
ОтветитьI have a $219.98 MSI pro z790-a wifi ddr4 running an Intel i9 13900k. 2 Corsair Vengeance 32 GB memory sticks. 1 Samsung 970 250 GB NVMe for Windows, and a 2T Samsung 990 NVMe. Along with an Nvidia RTX 4090.
It all works perfectly fine without a huge price tag attached to my motherboard.
Just getting old my guy 😂
ОтветитьIf I'm paying over a grand for Mobo, It better be able to give me studio level Sound experiences.
ОтветитьSad part pcie express needs to include 40 lanes. Seem to making expansion harder.
ОтветитьI just bought the ROG Strix Z690-E for $255 from Newegg (I think they "knock off" 100 for combo deals) and a 12th gen I7. Seems to be the "sweet spot" price wise. I'd switch to AMD if I didn't need my set up to do also handle photo editing as well.
We'll see how it goes. Current setup is MSI z390 gaming plus and i7 7th or 8th gen.
Thank you for this video! There needs to be a correction in prices and sku.
Ответитьwas about to build a replacement computer but at these prices not sure its worth he upgrade.. could not believe the prices of the motherboards from only 5 years ago!!!
Ответить250 dolars os crazy. 150eur is my maximum
ОтветитьIt will be a cold day in hell, and the devil will have arisen to enslave the world, before I spend 1000 bucks on a mobo. Hell, I'm not spending 250 on one. It's pointless. On it has an OLED readout? So the fuck what? What's the point of the readout. "I can see how much voltage is being put out!" And your hardware monitor on the screen cant??? Bruh. The only thing i care about, is does it have an M.2, and is it wifi capable. Im playing games that came out in 2017 bro the rest of thay bullshit is smoke and mirrors
ОтветитьAsus b450m-a2 80$ am4, ddr4 and it works great!
ОтветитьAs long as idiots buy those expensive boards, they will make them.
Ответить@jayztwocents Question: Is there an EK waterblock that would fit the 7900XTX Merc 310 Black Edition? I know there isn't a back plate, and alphacool does have one that I've been waiting over a month now to be delivered. I'm just curious if there is a custom way to watercool GPU's if there isn't a waterblock specifically made for it in particular.
ОтветитьI need a motherboard that supports DDR5 rams, LGA 1700 Z790 for the cpu and a 4080. Found MSI Z790 DDR5 tomahawk. Would that motherboard be a good purchase or am I missing a better value board?
I am open to recommendations but I don't feel confident in ASUS motherboards.
Exact reason i’m going for a b650 motherboard than x670.
Ответитьjust bought my ASROCK Pro Series A620M PRO RS today for $125
ОтветитьWhy is it sticky? It's performance goop!
ОтветитьI replaced my psu, cpu, and ram. Now when I walk away from my pc and it falls alseep, when waking it up, the entire pc is slow and behind, I turned off C global state and that seemed to help a lil then it went right back to doing what it was doing, SO I turned it back on... Anyone have any idea on what the issue could be?
Ответитьmeanwhile, im still on 3rd gen intel i5. someone send me a new mobo pls lol. gaming is ok since im not keeping up latest title but as a freelance photographer, working with photo editor is an ongoing struggle and challenge.
ОтветитьThe only way to get these companies to change is to literally stop buying their products, review bomb them and dont even mention them. Otherwise they will keep doing what they're doing. The purpose of any business is to not make a quality product, thats secondary. Their main perogative is to maximize profit. In this case that means stripping nice to have features instead focus those costs to the products visual aesthetic which is most likely cheaper, and then price gouge.
Ответить:V buy second hand.
